Consumer Info.com offered credit report ask for soc sec # charged credit card then cancelled order Orange California

I have been ripped off by this so called company.

I asked for a credit report over the internet and was assured that it was a secured site.

They said that I would receive a credit report from Equifax, Experian & TransUnion within 4 or 5 days.

Yesterday, January 23, 2004, I recieved a letter saying that the 3 Credit Reports with Credit Score are ready. Also that for my security they needed a few more pieces of information to complete my order.

They asked my to call Customer Care Center at 1 866 841 6376. I called them and they wanted my social security number. Without thinking I gave it to them.

Then she proceeded to tell me that it didn't agree with their records so they could not send the report and that they would cancel the order.

However they have charged my credit card. I am in the procell of submitting a fraud alert to the credit reporting bureau.
