I purchased a vehicle from a Grand Rapids dealership and was financed through Credit Acceptance Corp. I was told the interest rate was non-negotiable and I was required to purchase a extended warranty for 1900.00. After financing I discovered that the warranty was voluntary and the interest rate was not a set rate and could be negotiated. To make a long story short, if they dont recieve the payment the SAME day it due they call several times, Sundays holidays, 1AM and leave harassing voicemails on my phone. These people are from an India "call center", actually its someones home. They dont speak English and they expect you to understand them. Well I was a US Marine and I believe in patriotism and love for our nation..........I think thats all I need to say

Also dont buy the warranty keep your 2000.00 and fox all the problems yourslef cause they dont cover ANYTHING. Vehicle had 128K miles transmission went out. It was my fault cause the previous owners didnt take care of the vehicle

#5 Consumer Suggestion

Extended warranty

AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, November 25, 2007

""I was required to purchase a extended warranty for 1900.00. ""

This ""requirement"" is absolutely illegal in all US jurisdictions. In the future, if an auto dealer REQUIRES you to purchase a warranty in order to obtain finances RUN away from them and report them to the FTC and your state attorneys general office.

#1 UPDATE Employee

It's not the creditor's fault.

AUTHOR: Misskimmypie - (U.S.A.)

FYI - Problems with your car is not the creditor's fault, and lies told to you by the place you bought the car from, is not the creditor's fault either. As for receiving phone calls at odd times/days... Pay your bill. You'll be much happier and more at peace.
