Hi, I totally agree with all other victims, CREDIT ACCEPTANCE is a rotten ripoff! they approved a car loan through this WE FINANCE AUTO and the car I drove was a lemon in which We Fianance Auto knew that the oil was mixing with water when they sold it and the back floor of the car stayed wet, so I wasn't about to continue making payments on a freaking car giving all types of problems! and the dirtiest trick was that I tried to trade the car in and Credit Acceptance did not want to cooperate with a car dealership toward giving there fair share, I tried all I could to do right by this company, it was their fault for wrong doings, not mine. And now you, CREDIT ACCEPTANCE wants to charge a lawsuit against me, for an amount of $8000.00 Plus Interest for your cost and attorney fees for a da-- 2000 Lincoln Town Car, you people must be on crack mixed with heroin! all of this mess came back to me by a surprise because I disputed it in 2012 and never heard not one thing up til now, March 17, 2013, also their interest rates are crucket. And if an Attorney can hear all of us victims, giving an account to our voices, we all need to collaborate with an CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT!

CAC files suit for 12k and eventhoug they only advanced the dealer 5k on a car. They then try to collect the full 12k plus interest , and they keep the car!!if you fall on hard times and don't keep the agreement, you are screwed with them. while they are entitled to a fair portion, they are not entitled to the full amount because they keep the car, sue you, and try to collect the entire amount afterwards. They are slime and need to be stopped. some attorney please file a class action against them!!

Hey Nico..

You have failed to realize one little thing. Credit Acceptance did NOT sell you your car, they only gave you the money to be able to purchase it from the dealer..on the agreement that you would pay them back a set amount for a specific amount of time. No where in your loan documents will you find that you don't have to pay on your loan if the car has mechanical issues. So yes, when you go to court you will loose, and you will have a judgement against you.
I really have no idea what you mean by the statement that Credit Acceptance won't give the dealer their fair share. You also say you disputed it in 2012? What did you dispute? The fact that they were holding you to your agreement and you didn't think you had to be? Well that's not a dispute..that's a dream on your part.
What ever you do DO NOT just avoid going to court thinking this will go away. Because it won't. Now, if you get a "nice" judge, they MAY allow you to work out some arrangements to make it easier for you to pay, or they MAY in the 1 in 10,000 chance only allow them to collect on a lower amount(heck anything can happen in court). But if you go in with the attitude that you don't owe them any money because the dealer sold you a junk car and you don't like the terms YOU agreed to..you are going to have a very rough time.
So why don't you go after the dealer for selling you a car with issues...Oh I know why you don't..because you bought the car AS-IS. Which means that the second you signed the paper the car, and any issues that happen with it, become your responsibility.
Oh and before you even make the statement..sorry but I do not now or have I ever worked for this or any finance company.

CAC Responds to your "Complaint"

Some things need to be pointed out to the Author of this complaint.
#1. CAC has no relationship with the dealership WE Finance Auto, except that they contracted with us to be one of the direct lenders to their customers, hence we take NO responsibility for the condition of the car when you purchased it. That is something that needs to be taken up with WE Finance Auto.
#2. When CAC extends a loan to a car buyer, the contract that the buyer signs dictates the terms of the loan. It calls for payments to be made on a regularly scheduled basis, even if the car is not running.
#3. If you attempt to trade the car in, CAC has no control over what the dealership will offer you for the car. If they low ball you, that transaction is between you and the dealership. CAC owes no "Fair Share", you owe CAC,not the other way around.
#4. If the car was reposessed, or if you turned the car back in as a voluntary surrender, you will owe any differences between what we sell your car for, and what you owe. If you dont pay that amount we will sue you. In some states we have the right to garnish wages, and if that collection tool is available, then after we win our law suit against you, we will exercise that option very quickly.
#5. A final note. You are saying that WE Finance Auto knew the car was in poor shape when you bought it, so my question for you is Why didnt you spend a couple of hundred dollars and take the car to a independent mechanic to have the car looked at before you bought it? You could have saved yourself a lot of grief.
#6. Final observation. It seems that you have this unreasonable attitude to deflect the blame to someone else. First you try to blame CAC because WE Finance Auto sold you a lemon. Second, you did not have the car checked out by a mechanic before you bought it. Third. You tried to trade in a car a 2000 Lincoln town Car, and did not get the amount of money you owed on the car, and then tried to say that CAC should just "Forgive" the balance of the loan as CAC's Fair Share because of your mistakes in this transaction.
Let this experience serve as a lesson for you to check things out before you buy, not afterwards, and perhaps this wont happen again.
Hey , and we will "SEE YOU IN COURT". Please be careful what you say about CAC on national sites like this, as Slander, and Libel suits could be filed against you, for damaging OUR reputation.

You low down basters will say anything to make yourself look right! Stick to the facts, what person will continue to make payments for a lemon, that needs fixtures that the auto dealer knew about? And the insurance that you crooks included is also a gimmick! I tried to work with you people and you all did not appreciate it. You told me to take a bus in respones to my ripoff report, it is the opposite, (A BUS NEED TO TAKE ALL OF YOUR CRUCKET A**ES TO PRISON!) So tired of money hungry demons! GOD has something for folks like you people for doing poor citizens wrong, because there is nothing inside of the Holy Bible that read about loans and other evil mess on earth that has to do with satan doings, God did not create all this mess, it was satan and mans evil doings.

You defaulted on the loan so you claim the finance company is a rip-off. YOU are the rip-off because you refuse to honor the loan agreement. Your interest rates are high because only a subprime lender will finance you due to your poor credit history. Just wait until you see the finance rate on your next loan.
