DIRECT GARDENING DIRECT GARDENING ENGAGES IN WIDESPREAD MAIL, WIRE AND BANK FRAUD: FEDERAL CRIMES Bloomington Illinois

Direct Gardening -- an alleged supplier of plants via mail -- ships ONLY dead plants tossed loose, with no dirt on roots, and unidentified and without a packing slip -- into thin plastic bags and ships via the United States Postal Service. When plants arrive dead they go to GREAT lengths to alledge that the postal service is responsible and that the plants where shipped live, when it is clear this is seldom the case. A green plant can hardly turn to fall "dead leaf" brown in a couple days in the mail. Once you receive your dead plants your chances of recovering your monies in zero. I've had more than a dozen lengthy and extremely irritating emails from Direct Gardening justifying their incompetence and rationalizing their refusal to refund monies or ship live plants properly packaged and protected.

I learned of this company thru a catalog they sent to me. I went online to view their site, made 2 orders, paid via Debit Card, and received my dead plants via the USPS. These actions by Direct Gardening are Federal Crimes (see: justice.gov/criminal-fraud/mass-marketing-fraud).  Mail fraud is involved in sending catalogs and plants via the USPS when the sole intent is to defraud the buyer of monies. This violates the Federal Mail Fraud Act. The use of the Internet to sell and collect funds is a violation of the Wire Fraud Act. Taking monies from accounts via the web violates various Bank Fraud laws.

There are dozens and dozens of COMPLAINTS against this company on various websites across the internet by people whohave experienced identical aor similar fraud schemes to what I experienced. 

If your money matters to you DO NOT buy from this company. Their violations fall under Civil RICO Law -- the same Criminal Racketeering laws used to go after organized crime. This company needs to be permanently put OUT OF BUSINESS.
