This problem started when I decided to try and save money by switching to Express Scripts home delivery service. From the information I had the savings would be significant. I called them to find out what I needed to do to set up my medictions with their service. By the time I got the set up completed I had talked to five different CS agents. All told me that what the previous CS had said was wrong and I needed to do what they told me. Eventuially I was able to get all of my medications into their system. At this point a new problem presented it self. I called to get a refill of my insulins, Novalog and Lantus. One of the five CS agents told me that once I called in a refill for my insulin it would be shipped immediately and I would have them within two to three days. Shortly after requesting my insulin I get a call from a young lady stating she was a pharmacist and was preparing my VIALS of insulin. When I told her that I didn't use vials, that I used NOVALOG insulin pens she had no idea what I was talking about. I got my box and read the information that was on my Novalog Insulin pens. We also went through the same thing with my Lantis insulin. Next problem; for years I have gotten 8 boxes of Novalog Insulin pens for three months and 4 boxes of Lantus for three months. When I finally got my medications I had 6 Boxes of Novalog Insulin and 6 Boxes of Lantus Insulin. When it came to the needles for these insulin pens I told the pharmacist that I used three boxes of 100 needles over three months. When the order arrived I had two orders of six boxes or a total of 12 boxes of needles. I renewed my Vistral script for 60 capsules with two refills. A female pharmacist called me and asked me what is hydroxyzine pamoate. She said they didn't care this medication. I gave her the trade name of "Vistaril." She then requested the medication strength and how I was to take the medication (25mg take one or two capsules at bedtime for itching) and that I usually get one to two refills. What I received was a bottle of Vistaril 25mg with 720 capsules in it and one refill. The next time I called in I was asked if I wanted to signup for "Automatic Refills." I talked this over with the young lady. It sound good, so we went through all of my medications and put EVERYTHING on Automatic Refills. The young lady asked me to hold for a minute while she checked to make certain all the changes had gone through as they should on the Express Scripts computer. After a couple of minutes she came back on the line and assured me everything had gone through as it should and now I would no longer have to worry about requesting refills. I got with in one week of being out of some of my medications and had not received anything. I contacted Express Scripts and learned what the young lady had told me was not accurate. None of my medications were on "Automatic Refills." I was told it would take two weeks to get my refills and I should see my doctor and get a script to be filled at a local pharmacy. This was the last straw. I went into the Express Scripts website and found where it said I could be removed from their system and unenrolled from the home delivery service. I clicked on the button and their computer confirmed I had been removed from the Express Scripts home deivery service. Shortly there after I received three deliveries of medictions I never ordered and I refused delivery and they were sent back to Express Scripts. Last week I received an Invoice for $26.00 for medications I did not order and were sent back. I notified Express Scripts I had not accepted the medications and they were returned to them. Today, 04 Oct 2013, I received and e-mail from Express Scripts it did not matter that I had not ordered the medications, nor that I had refused receipt, I was responsiblee for paying for them. They would be resending them to me and if I refused them again they would be destroyed, but I was still liable for the $26.00. I have a letter from Express Scripts acknowledging my withdrawing from their home delivery system yet they don't want to recognize it. Additionally they are constantly calling me trying to get me to order medications through their home delivery system.
I don't recommend EXPRESS SCRIPTS to any one. Being retired military they are the ones responsible for handling my medications and my wifes medications. We are currently using a local pharmacy and have even had some problems with Express Scripts paying for our medications there. Nothing has worked right since they would not negotiage with Walgreens and renew their contract with them.
