iyogi - based in India - seems to be beyond the reach of American law, but, as a serious threat to consumers, we need to publish it's misbehaviors. Here's my sad story.

In a hurry on Saturday, 3/22/14, I clicked what I thought was a Java update icon.  The next window was highly suspicious, so no more clicking, other than trying to close the "update window."

It wouldn't close.

Moved away & tried to continue browsing, but couldn't get to my chosen sites.  All links were redirected to ads for games and garbage that I never touch.  Blew them away as fast as I could, but couldn't get to my sites because they were either blanked out or immediately redirected.

Ran my two anti-virus programs and removed a few adware files.  Went back to a browser window - still bugged.  Noticed that an anti-virus service I'd never before contacted was telling me my PC was "infected."  No Kidding!

The anti-virus "service" was arrogant enough to put their name and phone number in several of the pop-ups!  Not expecting much, I wasn't surprised when the Tech couldn't deal with anything but a "laptop or desktop."  When informed that it was a netbook, she repeated her question - "Laptop or desktop?"

She wanted my name, phone  number, and permission to access my PC.  I refused, telling her that her company infected it, so she could tell me how to remove the infection.  I wouldn't let her near my PC.  She kept asking "Laptop or dektop?"

I demanded to speak to a supervisor, but she hung up.

A search for "iYogi removal" (from my iPad) turned up www.malwaretips.com, among other sites.  MalwareTIps has a very thorough series of steps that eliminated the problem.

Here in Ripoff Report, there are numerous reports of people with similar experience dealing with the IYogi help desk.  This report should not be the first one concerning the deliberate infecting of a PC by IYogi.
