 In late October of last year (2009), We bought a HAWK linear lightbar from this company online. From the description, the lightbar looked like it was well built and worth the almost $2000 price tag on it... until it arrived at my front door. When I opened the box, there were no instructions with the lightbar, no installation tools or brackets, and THE ENDS OF THE LIGHTBAR WERE BROKEN OFF!! It looked as if the company that made the thing put it together with superglue. Almost the entire thing was made of lightweight plastic. I wasn't about to try to fix it and put it on top of an apparatus. I've had a lightbar fall apart going down the road at 90 miles an hour but this one didn't even make it on the truck!


So... I tried to contact LED Outfitters to resolve this issue. I called the 1-877-808-5337 number several times a day for almost 2 weeks with either a busy signal or no answer. I left message after message, e-mail after e-mail, but no response. I packaged the lightbar back up and sent it to the address that WAS on the website, 591 Middle Neck Rd. Great Neck NY. I made sure that UPS had to have a signature upon delivery also. I tracked the package and it made it to the above address in a few days but where "MIKE" was supposed to sign for it, there was only a small line and a dot in the signature box. I don't know if he signed for it or not. So I tried calling him about a week later and he actually picked upt the phone this time, after I tried the fax number...


He told me he had recieved the lightbar but he was waiting for me to call him to see what I wanted him to do with it. I told him I wanted a refund for the full amount ($1949.99) of the lightbar because it was poorly made and not suitable for an emergency apparatus. He started raising his voice like I had done something to upset him...  ??  He said he could not give me a refund on the lightbar and that the only thing he could do is send it off to get it repaired. (As if you could repair that piece of crap) I told him we could not use it anymore and that we had already bought another one. Then the yelling started. He started cussing me and of course I reciprocated by cussing him too and finally he hung up..


 I filed a complaint with the BBB of New York but that did nothing.. The case was closed within 2 weeks. We finally turned the case over to our credit union to try to get our money back. They said they needed proof of reciept from where we returned the lightbar. (Evidently the proof of delivery from UPS isn't good enough.) The credit union turned it over to VISA. We tried calling Mike again to try to verify the return address where we sent the lightbar but he wouldn't ever come out and say that, yes, that was the returns address. VISA took the money back from LED Oufitters but they won't return it to us because we have no proof of delivery and we can't talk to Mike because he doesn't want to deal with our "shenannigans" anymore.


WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT BUY ANY PRODUCT FROM THIS COMPANY. I want to know what he did with the lightbar we returned because he said he didn't have it anymore the last time we called up there. I feel sorry for the person/organization that bought it!

the company handles itself in these types of situations. Please feel

and we are
not out there to rip you off. We deal with many customers every
