I had my transmission rebuilt by Lee myles in Hazlet in April 2011. In August it started running funny. I brought it to a Volkswagen Service center. They told me it was the transmission.
I brought it back to Lee Myles and gave them the info from VW. The gears were sticking and my torgue converter nut was missing and the screw was stripped. They said they repaired the problem so I picked my car up.
Two days later the transmission fluid had leaked all over the engine. I brought it back to Lee Myles immediately. They told me that some O-rings were dry rotted on the top of the transmission so they would replace them.
I asked if they could also replace the torque converter nut. I did not speak to the manager again after that. He left me a voice mail at the end of their business day to let me know that he would leave my keys under the car and I could pick it up that evening. I assumed everything was fine.
One week later I brought my car back to a volkswagen service center to have my timing belt replaced. They looked at the transmission again and told me that the gears were slipping and torque converter nut was STILL missing.
Volkswagen was kind enough to call Lee Myles while I was there. They asked why the work was not completed and the manager at Lee myles said that I was in a rush to get my car back. (that was a lie. a friend lent me a car and said that I could borrow it as long as necessary)
So, another trip to Lee Myles. At this point I did not deal with them at all. I thought maybe they were jerking me around because I'm a female. My guy friend did all the business for me. After I picked up the car a few days later it seemd to be running fine but I brought it back to VW just for them to take a look. I was told that the torque converter nut was still missing.
I called the general service number and spoke with someone who called the Lee Myles where my car was worked on. (they said that they would be happy to replace the nut but I would have to leave my car afor a few days).
At this point I am furious. My car was there for half the month of August. I asked them to repair it each time it was there. At ths point I have run out of favors for borrowing a car or getting rides to work. Lee myles will not provide me with a rental car even though it's their fault that I'm in this position.
On top of everything else, I never received an invoice for proof of work done to the car. I was told that work done at no charge while the car is under warranty is not entitled to proof of work. What the heck? I never heard of this! How can they prove to me that they've done anything to my car?
