I was shocked when I found out how many complaints were filed against this company. Hopefully I get this problem resolved because I just want my car. Unfortunately, I picked this company after receiving a quote through email from them. I was moving out of Boston and my flight left on Sat Feb 11, 2006. I called them on Monday Feb 6 after receiving a quote from them a week before and that the estimated pick-up date would be around Feb 8-9. I called a guy named Alex and he assured me that the car would be pick-up on those dates. They charged my credit card immediately for a $200 deposit out of $825 so I was stuck with them even before I sign the contract. They finally sent me a contract through email on Wednesday Feb 8, so I signed it and faxed it back twice on the same day. I called just to make sure they have received my fax, a lady from customer service finally picked up and was really rudely told me that they have not receive the fax and that I should fax them again. I faxed them again. Called later during the day and the guy from customer service said that they have already received the fax and that he was sure that they would pick-up by the estimated date. Friday came, one of the lady from customer service called to see if the driver had call to come pick up the car. I told her no and she said she would find out what happened and would call me back a few hours later. Three hours later, I called back and a guy from customer service told me that the driver who was in my area was waiting for the clients to pick up their cars in order to to free space for my car. I told him my flight was leaving the next day and that they need to pick up the car as soon as possible. He told me that from 24-48 hours later that my car would be pick up. I left the car with my landlord the next morning and went back to Austin.

Monday, I tried calling but no answer or even a ring. Put me on hold forever but nobody ever picks up. Tuesday Feb 14 came and still nothing. I called and called but all I got was not even a ring. I finally got into customer service and got through with the rude lady. She said she put me on hold to check what happened. Came back later on and didn't even know who I was so I had to tell her the whole situation again. She told me again the same story of what happened to the driver the week before. I asked her so how soon they can pick up my car. She rudely said she's reading the note, and that they would pick up my car by Monday Feb 20. I asked if I could cancel the order and she said that I signed a contract with them. So decided to wait. Monday Feb 20 came and still no call. Nobody pick up my car. I called and can't even get to the mailbox to leave a message. I even email them. Hopefully I can get in contact with them tomorrow and find out what happened.

Thao, file for a chargeback today, AND file on the brokers bond for damages!

AUTHOR: Steve - (U.S.A.)

This National Auto Transport appears to be just a broker. And this is where your problem began.

This broker failed to find a cheap freight hauler to haul your car. They did not car about your agreed p/u date or your inconvenience.

These cheap freight brokers usually pay a flat rate to a carrier regardless of distance/destination. The broker expects to make more off the load than the carrier who is moving it!

Usually the flat rate for 1 car is $250-$400, with the average being $300.

The good news is that you can go to the FMCSA and get a company snapshot containing insurance and bonding info.

FYI...NEVER sign an agreement after paying someone, or after they have your property! That is crazy!!

ALWAYS request a copy of the authority and insurance of the carrier and/or broker BEFORE paying anything or giving posession of property.

Good luck

I called them on Tuesday, Feb 21. The guy apologized and made an offer whether I want to wait another 24-48hrs to see if they can find another driver or I can cancel and they'll refund me my credit card. I told them I wanted to cancel because I couldn't wait any longer just leaving my car in boston. The guy said it'll take 4-5 days for it to go through. I checked my statement online, nothing went through. I called them back yesterday, the guy checked and said that they refund last tuesday which is february 21 and will take 5-7 days. It has been one week and no progress.

File a chargeback

AUTHOR: Dave - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, February 22, 2006

Cancel the pickup with them and file a chargeback on your card. 99% of transport companies allow you to back out of the contract if they have not found a transporter for you vehicle.

I had to do the same thing... But when I cancelled, they claimed they had already assigned my car to a transporter, and tried to fight the chargeback, however, it didn't work. I got my deposit back.
