Netbank picks on the "little" guys. It takes advantage of customers who have had NSF activity in their acounts by using obscure terms of agreement that a customer agreed to when they first signed up for a NETBANK account. I have struggled with my account but have still had some NSF activity. So NETBANK reaches into its trickbag, pulls up something in (Terms of Agreement.Use) that I signed about 2 years ago, puts a safetguard hold on all my deposits (without telling me, Board of directors thought this was a great idea) and held my deposits (check and money order) for NINE business days.

so what happens to the checks I'm writing...they BOUNCE and Netbank picks up a cool $25.00 per bounce. Most recently, I ordered an ATM card (it's suppose to be free) to the best of my knowledge and BAMM it's not. So my $3.00 and $4.00 checks bounce to the tune of $25.00 each and I'm sure there's more to come. If anyoone reads this who can help get Netbank to stop RIPPING OFF the little guy, please contact me or better yet just STOP them. i believe that many other Netbank customers with NSF history are being subjected to the same treatment. They refuse to give back the money they steal.. I've asked them to reverse the fees and close my account (09/26/02). I'm still waiting

NetBank Attacks

AUTHOR: Terrance - ()

POSTED: Friday, September 27, 2002

I have been a customer of Netbank for several years and have never had a problem, I have even had them reverse some NSFs. Wanda, the first thing I would do is to put some cash is your account and stop writting checks for a week or two. Let the funds clear the account. Remember if you deposit more than $5k, the bank is required to hold your funds for several days per the IRS.

The second thing to do is to write a letter to the President of NetBank Inc, which should tell him all the great things about being a NetBank customer and that this unfortunate rule caused Netbank to charge fees as such -- and detail out the information. Tell him that you were looking forward to a long relationship with Netbank and that you would appreciate it if they would kindly consider reversing the charges.

I would be very surprised if they didn't positively respond to your request. Lastly, you could take then to small claims court as it doesn't seem fair that a Company could charge you fees when there is sufficient funds in the account.
