I just applied for financing through gateway to get a new computer system. I am a student pilot and have a VERy demanding Flight Simulator which by itself takes up loads of memory and over 250 GB of space on my hard drive. So I "customize" a computer through Gateway and was declined for credit. I was given an option to say "yes" or "no" to information from their Financing Partner - Paradigm.

Of course I clicked yes - expecting to be redirected to a web page that gives an offer or something i could review in front of me. No such luck. Instead I get redirected to a page that tells me Paradigm will be contacting me by phone soon.

Naturally I want to research anyone who would be financing me for anything, and a Google search brought up this page before their own web page. Talk about strong. Least to say thanks to a quick search engine I now know about Rip Off Reports and after reading everything here I know what my answer to Paradigm will be if they call me tomorrow.

If they start harassing my phone I guarentee their phone number will be blocked and i will be filing action. I take do not call requests very seriously, and I also work as a telemarketing agent out of my own home, so i know the rights of consumers. If someone requests you put them on their do not call list, they CAN NOT tell you to "wait x-amount of time" before that takes effect. That's BS. They have to stop calling you right then and there. The only time any time can be alloted for compliance is for affiliates of that company, but that company itself has to make the request immediate as far as they directly are concerned.

I am unsure how this site works, exactly, or if I can make a follow-up post to one of my reports here. However if i can I will keep you, the consumers, posted about what happens.

I thank you so much for speaking out, although I already know ahead of time I would never give my checking info to anyone over the phone for financing of any sort. Take it from a sales agent who is in the industry -- BAD idea. If the company I worked for ever found out that kind of practice was happening the client would be banned for sure and we would never serve them.

Unfortunately, it doesnt look like this company employs a reputable service system Everything I am reading here leads me to believe it's 2 ladies that handle everything. Makes you wonder.
