Power Home Technologies AKA Monotronics is a complete rip-off! My husband serves in the navy and we were to PCS out of the country a month after signing up with them. Apparently, they won't let us out of the contract even if we have MILITARY ORDERS for the next couple of years! I asked if they could monitor us overseas and their answer is NO! So you can't provide me the service that I signed up but you still want me to pay for it? Seriously?!?!?
If you are military DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THEM! Even ADT lets you out of the contract with military orders. We don't make much money as it is and they want us to pay for a service they can't give to us?? That sounds like a RIP OFF TO ME! The service is horrible (especially the run-around you get just rying to resolve it) and it isn't worth your time or money. The motion sensor itself isn't even the one that was pitched to us!! POWER HOME TECHNOLOGIES AND MONOTRONICS IS A RIP OFF!!!
If I could make the FONT BIGGER, I would. They won't even try to resolve anything. They just want your money even with no service involved. I even suggested they come back and take the monitoring system. They don't even want it!! HOW STUPID!!! If you want a competent service and a company that appreciates military service, do no go with them, go with someone else. Anything has got to be better than them! We bust our behinds to keep this country safe only to harbour disgusting companies that rip people off, just like power home technologies.

Hi Tina! I called up the owner of the company. Brad or something. I don't remember his name. He then referred me to some guy that was in the army and he had requested a copy of my husband's orders, which I had already sent to the previous rep. After he looked at it, I had to call to schedule them to come get their equipment before I PCS'd. I really had to make a big deal inorder to get some resolution and honestly, it wasn't worth the headache. It shouldn't be that way for service members and being as how thie guy was previously in the "Army", I didn't feel the need to explain myself. The PCS orders should have been suffice. Hi,
I'm actually in a similar situation and my husband is a Marine. We received PCS orders as well but stateside rather than overseas. I reported them to the BBB because like you I was also informed that we would be able to cancel under the Service Members Civil Relief Act before I allowed them to install the system.
I received a response from a supposed prior MSG in the Army that works for them that they do have a policy for people that PCS overseas. If it will help and want me to forward that response to you just let me know.
I was told by an employee that "in these cases it's his word versus yours." It's a shame they feel they can do this...especially to military families. I feel it's a scam they are running and am going to try and have it investigated further. I hope this helps though.
