Shell dishonest and fraudulent billing Columbus Ohio

Hi there,

Sometime late in summer of 2005,I was contacted by AIG insurance firm and they told me about an insurance plan which was good for me and they said that the first 2 months were free and then I need to pay 19.95 every month and that I need to call them and give them my information once the free period was over.

I had a shell credit card and had never used it and I used to carry it with me to ensure that I was not short of cash anytime. About 5 months after the call I received a call from one of the customer executives from Shell Credit Card company and they informed me that my account is past due and that I had missed payments on 2 occassions. I told them that I have never used the credit card and I'm suprised that I have an outstanding balance. Until their call I had not received any billing statement. the customer executive also told me that the balance was for charges from AIG insurance. I told them that I had not authorized AIG to charge my credit card and had never given out my credit card number. The customer executive told me that they had not given them my credit card number. I called up AIG and they told me that Shell and AIg routinely pass on customer information and that the credit card info had to come from Shell. I called Shell again and they denied that they gave the number and I told them that I shall contact my lawyer and the woman on the line overconfidently said..ok.... I am a student and cant afford to hire a lawyer and then I eventually caved in and paid the balance with some hefty fine.
