My daughter received this call 2/12/07 at 8:19am. The lady, Karen Daniels, was obviously from Pakistan or India spoke in broken English. She said " You owe $650 for lease on Car to GMAC". My daughter told her she paid it off in 2001.
I am thinking this is only the start of a string of harrasing calls and we want to nip it in the bud.
She said my daughter has to supply proof she paid it off. BS.
If anyone has had to deal with this company, Please let us know what transpired.
I told me daughter not to speak on the phone about the matter. We will send a letter to the home office registered mail and request proof that she owes the money.
Is this call from another country? She could barely speak English?

#3 Consumer Suggestion
Sitel working with GMAC
AUTHOR: Cynthia - (U.S.A.)

I worked for a company for two years that transports used vehicles to auction for several clients. Sitel does have a call center somewhere in India that is handling repossession and post-repo transport of a lot of GMAC's vehicles. I had to talk to "Karen Brown" or "Robert Cobain" or "Susan" on a daily basis to give them updates on vehicles we were transporting. You can tell when you are talking to them that they are working from a script, and cannot engage in a complicated conversation regarding a specific vehicle, i.e. I am waiting on a tow truck quote and can't tell them the exact date vehicle will be moved.
I wish you best of luck in dealing with GMAC and Sitel on this issue, and I hope you have accurate payment records and/or the clear title to prove no monies are due on the vehicle.

They are now calling every day in the morning. They spoke with me today trying to get information on my daughter.
The man said his name was George Edwards(right!!) but could barely speak understandable English, he was probably Indian or Pakistani(I have nothing against either). He told me he was an employee of GMAC when I asked him directly but also was stunned when I asked if he was from Sitel(we have caller ID).
I am composing the letter for her today requesting an itemized accounting, no more phone conversations and all.
