I purchased tickets for a concert that were billed as "Floor G.A." for $140 dollars. I did not check the box that stated I would accept other tickets if these were not available. I paid a total of $323.95 and received General Admission tickets with a face value of 53 dollars apiece.

I called and stated I did not order G.A. but Floor. I was told all tickets were G.A. and that everyone would be on the floor, i.e we would all be standing on the ground. Ticketsnow had several categories of tickets for this concert with different prices and designations like GA3 or GA5. They posted a seating chart of the forum which showed assigned seating sections A,B,C, D etc. This was fraudulently misleading and misrepresentaiton.

I asked for a refund and Ticketsnow refused. I have contacted the BBB, the Attorney General's office and a company called Consumer Xchange, who is fighting to help me.

This company is completely disreputable. Any one out there up for a class action lawsuit? I see one here based on all the other comments about Ticketnow.

Not About Paying More than face value about Fraud

AUTHOR: Cynthia - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, August 20, 2006

This is not a case about paying more than face value it is about representing something fraudulently. Selling "Floor" tickets when no such section exists, listing 9 separate categories of seats with different prices when in fact only 1 category of ticket at one price exists is misleading and fraudulent. Shame on TicketsNow and I hope no one else is induced by such fraudulent advertising to purchase something far below what they were led to believe they were purchasing.

YOU ALWAYS PAY MORE THAN FACE VALUE WHEN PURCHASING FROM A TICKET BROKER

AUTHOR: Sherri - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, August 20, 2006

I would never pay above face for a ticket that is General Admission, which is basically first come, first served. A GA ticket does not guarantee you a good seat or good standing area. I do use a ticket broker on occasion, but only for front row or VIP seats and I do expect for pay more. Ticket brokers are basically legal scalpers. Fortunately, my broker does take care of me and gives me discounts and comps my parking.

My suggestion in the future is that before purchasing a ticket, check the venue seating charts and/ or call the venue box office to verify that you are getting what you think you are getting. Note that seating charts that specify specific seating areas do NOT apply to General Admission.
