I was overcharged for my Barnum & Bailey Circus tickets by $140.00. I paid for four $70.00 tickets, and received four $35.00 tickets in the mail.

When I was finally able to talk to TicketsNow.com Customer Service, they told me that underneath the FAQ link, under the Buying Tickets link, under the Terms and Conditions link, under Purchasing paragraph, is the following statement:

1. PURCHASING: TicketsNow provides you with the service of locating tickets that typically are not available through standard channels, such as through Ticketmaster or from a venue box office. Because most of our tickets are provided by independent, professional, secondary ticketing agencies, the price that you pay may be substantially higher than the Face Value price printed on the tickets. You hereby agree to and understand this.

I was not aware of this statement and I definitely feel ripped off. The TicketsNow.com Customer Care Representative that I spoke to, offered no solution. The Representative simply stated that the price I paid for was the price they paid for.

If you would only read before you buy!!!

I was employed by TicketsNow.com for a year. In the call center half of the calls are for ordering tickets, the other half are disgruntle customers who didn't read what they were agreeing to. Unfortunately, the company spends a lot of money to fight all disputes and usually wins. The original owner did his homework and had all the ins and outs of this business figured out.

It was hard to work for this company when you are asked to things that are not ethically right. For instance, when the Cubs tickets go on sale, they would send as many employees down to the box office as they could fit into two buses. You were armed with your personal credit card or one of an other employee (even friends of employees credit cards were used) to stand in line and purchase as many tickets as possible for the company while pretending to be purchasing for private use. Back at the office, the employees that didn't go to the box office were steated with multiple auto dialing telephones for hours, again purchasing tickets with other's credit cards from around the country.

This is the reason why the general public can not find tickets for any big events for face value. The brokers hoard them with in seconds of going on sale. Then the mark up and shipping & handling are added to the cost and all plainly stated in the terms and conditions that you have to click through before finalizing your order.

The gentleman who created this was a genius and now very wealthy to boot. You just have to be in the right place at the right time. Not me, I sleep well at night now that I am no longer under their employ.
