I placed an order that included a number of high end parts to build a custom workstation for a client. Two of the items I purchased were Samsung Pro Series SSD's. One of them arrived just fine, and the second package was shipped weighing .4lbs lighter. When that package arrived there was packaging material and a retail Samsung SSD box inside, but NO SSD! The SSD that was supposed to be inside the box was a 2 TB Pro Series that I paid $949.99 for. I immediately reported this to TigerDirect and they launched an "investigation".
after over a month of being told that my refund was approved and just waiting to be processed back to me, I ramped up the pressure on TigerDirect to return my money that they were holding hostage at that point. They then told me that they were refusing to refund my money stating that the package weight was the same when UPS delivered it as it was when it was packaged by them...It does not take a genius to figure out that whomever was supposed to put the SSD inside of that reail box simply didn't so so either on purpose or by oversight. So the package would have weighed the same. However, I did have that other SSD that I purchased and TD shipped to me in its own box...and the weight of that package was officially checked in at .4lbs HEAVIER than the box that did not have an SSD inside. I provided this information to TD managers in a very easy to see side by side JPG. They never responded to that evidence.
I even contacted a UPS rep personally and they verified that the package weights were substantially different in weight. (Substantially different considering the very minimal weight of an SSD, but it was clear that the package with the missing SSD was light!) It has been over 2 months now and Roger Insua, the Customer Service Manager, still refuses to do anything for me. I have also attempted contacting another manager but neither Roger nor Rick reply to my emails, calls, or voicemails. The last email response I had was one by Roger claiming I was "threatening" them by stating that I was turning them in to the BBB, FTC and any other fraud sites. I'm sure he was simply trying to scare me away so that I give up and let them steal my money for good.
The final kicker to this mess is that Roger told me that if I had purchased another SSD from another store after I reported the item missing that they would refund my money. I had purchased another SSD to replace this over a month ago from another provider...of course I didn't have the receipt after 40+ days so I have to contact the business owner to come up with one from his records...which he luckily was able to send me his invoice copy. I turned that in to Roger Insua and another manager at Tiger Direct...and they have not replied.
I have sent emails asking for a response, placed phone calls, and left a voice message specifically asking for a response. But they have done nothing!! They said they would issue a refund once they had proof of purchase elsewhere (which is completely inconpetent of them by the way since they should have done so when I proved that the package was lighter than the other package that should have been the exact same weight!!). I would never in a million years purchase anything from these fraudulent crooks again. They are a massive disgrace and incredibly dishonest!!
