I lived in the Stated of Michigan for 1 year then moved back home (where they do not have a Universal gas & Electric) . I had an account with them; I must say I had to call them about 6 times to let them know that I was moving. I was told by customer service to send a letter stating when I was moving(date) and the new address. I sent by mail 3 letters to them, then I was told to call this number: 1-877-863-2444: then I was told to fax over my letter to this number: 1-866-673-1701. I did!

Now to get out here is what you do!
1.) You must write a letter stating that you are moving and give a 30 day notice with the new address. Must be another address that not able to supply Universal gas & Electric or another state that doesn't have Universal gas & Electric.

2). you must also fax them a copy of your driver licen. (Find one on line and edit it with your image and change the address) then fax it to them.

3). they need a bill with the new address. Here is what you do.
Get your car insurance card change the address by using Microsoft word
Print the new address on a sheet of paper then print it out.
Tape it to your car insurance card then make a copy of it.

4). Fax over your info to this number: 1-866-673-1701 with a cover letter and your contract number.

Note: There are no early termination charges if you move to another address that not able to supply Universal gas & Electric or another state that doesn't have Universal gas & Electric. (Well that's the contract for Michigan)
Look in the customer user guide under what happens if your address changes. If you do not have a user guide call them and ask them to send you one.

User guide states:
2).You must give in writing 30 days before your address changes.
3).If you move outside of Michigan, this Agreement shall terminate and you will not be responsible for termination charges.
4). If you move to a Michigan address, but Universal is not able to supply natural gas to you at your new Michigan address, this Agreement shall termination and you will not be responsible for early termination charges.

I must say that I'm happy now and don't have to pay that $250.00 fee. Hay if this is to much for you to do then pay the $250.00 fee. People like me don't have $250.00 and I wouldn't pay it, if I had it. Times are hard and will get harder before they can get better. Now because I moved to another state I didn't have to edit anything but those are the documents that I had to fax over to them. Hope this helps you out!
