Vantage Point Services They claimed I owed money to a payday loan service and threaten me with a felony warrant and jail. Amhurst New York

On Friday, April 4, 2014 while at work, I received a phone call from Vantage Point Services, the person on the phone identified himself as a lawyer and that he had a warrant for my arrest and if I didn't pay $882.98 for a payday loan that I supposedly took out in 2009.

First of all I have never in my life ever taken out a payday loan, so I was completely confused at this point.  When I told him that he told me they had the right person and continued by telling me my address, and social security number.  At this point I really didn't know what to do.  Then he proceeded to tell me that the police had already gone by my house but no one was home and that they were coming to my place of employement to serve me the warrant and arrest me and that I would serve 120 days in jail.

I was scared and didn't know what other options I had so I paid them.  The lawyer transferred me to a woman named Lisa Stewart at 773-819-2391 and she explained the payment arrangements and then transferred me to someone else who recorded the conversation at point and took my payment, again telling me that if I tried to stop the payment or cancel it in anyway that I would be prosecuted.  10 minutes later I was telling a friend about it and he got the number from me and called them back.  

Lisa immediately put him through to the first man I spoke with, unfortunately I didn't get his name, but told my friend that he never identified himself as a lawyer, and that they don't conduct business by making threats to anyone and all there conversations were recorded and if someone threaten me he would take care of it.  What a bunch of BS.

I tried to stop the payment but my bank said the way the transaction was done wouldn't allow a stop payment.  All I could do at this point is to file a claim and hope that they would give my money back.

Today is Monday, April 7, 2014 and my bank provided me with the result of my claim.  They cannot give me my money back since this company is considered a legitimate business and the transaction was processed correctly and authorized.

If Vantage Point Services has continually ripped people off why isn't there something that can be done about it?  I check with the Better Buisness Bureau and Vantage Point isn't registered with them so they can't do anything.  There must be something that can be done to keep them from continuing to take peoples money!
