Verizon Online AKA Verizon Lied about service transferral procedure, causing me to be rightfully billed $113 from another company for redundant service. Rip-off! Martinsburgh West Virginia

On July 23, 2004 I switched internet service providers from Bestweb Internet to Verizon Online. While ordering my service the person I spoke with in the sales department informed me that Verizon would be responsible for contacting my old service provider (Bestweb Internet) and cancelling my service with them. After being charged by Bestweb Internet for two months of service past my "cancellation", $56 and change each month, I called them up only to find out that Verizon can't cancel my service with them; that I need to fax or mail them a cancellation request with a handwritten signature. I let it go two months because I thought the first month was simply the last charge before the transition.

I called Verizon and was told that they can't cancel my old service; that I had to do it and that I should have been told this. However, as mentioned above, I was lied in that I was told they would do this for me.
