We purchased a Warrantech Corporation "Home Advantage" warranty with our home as it is an older home with older appliances. Our first clue we had made a terrible mistake was when our heat pump went out and Warrantech refused to cover the repair, stating "wiring is not covered", yet they gladly took our $50 deductible for the house call.

Recently our "built-in" microwave died, Warrantech told us it was not covered because "it was not designed to be built in", yet my microwave owners manual clearly states "an optional built-in kit is available for your microwave should you decide to have it built-in". They refused to listen to me and refused to return my phone calls. One of my calls was to the company CEO, Joel San Antonio, his receptionist told me he was ,conveniently, "out of the office, but "someone" will definitely get back to me today".....My call was not returned .

Again, they gladly took our $50 deductible for the house call. Our "warranty" cost us nearly $500 per year above and beyond the $50 deductible each time someone comes out to simply say ,"sorry, not covered". I would advise ANY home buyer or home owner to AVOID WARRANTECH CORPORATION LIKE THE PLAGUE! This is a company that preys on the anxiety of home buyers looking for some piece of mind, they rarely come threw in the form of a reputable repair, but they won't hesitate to cash your check. In my opinion, they definitely qualify as "bottom feeders" and truly need to be investigated for their unsavory business practices.

I have filed a formal complaint with the BBB regarding Warrantech Corporation, depending on the outcome of the complaint, this may or may not escalate to a court of law for litigation as I will not stand by and have low-life such as Warrantech Corporation prey on me.
