BEWARE of doing business with this company or individual.

Attended a craft fair in Round Lake New York in mid August, 2009 and thought it would be a good time to start looking for Christmas gifts.  Being on a tight budget, I wanted to get something unusual without going crazy. We ran across a booth called "Wildflowers & Bugs" run by a George Kise.  He was selling wooden painted signs of all designs and we decided to buy one for our son and daughter-in-law.  He seemed legit at the time, helped us design a custom order,  which we had to allow 8-12 weeks to get, and we paid him by by credit card. 

After getting home, we noticed that the bill on the receipt didn't add up correctly, as he left the sales tax area blank, but it was within range of what we expected to pay, so we left it alone.  We also noticed that the eventual charge on our credit card statement was also off a few cents, but again, no big deal. 

After 12 weeks we decided to call the number provided, spoke with George who had few excuses, been traveling alot, eye problems, busy, etc.  To me it seemed a little odd, in that he originally told us that he did all the selling and his wife had the job of designing and painting of the sign.  He put us on hold and then indicated that our sign was cut, and we would be receiving it in about a week.  We waited 2 weeks and I tried calling him again.  This time his mailbox was full and was unable to take any new messages. I then sent an email and got no response.  After a few days of trying to call him, low and behold he answers the phone.  He apologized, and said the would look into it a call back, which he didn't.  I then went on the internet to see if I could get any additional information on this company, only to find out that this guy is wanted by so many people, in several states,  for taking their hard earned money and not providing any merchandise or refunds.  The compaints to the Atty Generals office, , Better Business Bureau, you name it are amazing. On internet maps and street scenes, the address he lists seem to be all boarded up and vacant buildings.  It was then I knew that we were among the many that have been screwed by this guy.  I can only hope that someday he gets caught and does time.  I know that if I ever run across him at another craft fair it won't be pretty.  In that Syracuse is not far from where I live, I will make every attempt to find this guy personally and he will be arrested.
