BEWARE OF BANK OF AMERICA   THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY. THEY HAVE NO "CUSTOMER SERVICE" SINCE THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CLIENTS.   My mother is 96 years old. My mother had $120,000 invested with MBNA in CD's. They merged with Bank of America. I went to my local branch in Arbutus on East Drive, where they refused to provide me with any information, and told me I should "forget about it!"

I tried calling the bank's main office, but could not speak with a live person. I called the branch back and requested a corporate number. The assistant manager refused me my request and said the manager would call me the following week. Of course I never heard from either one of them again.

My documents indicate these investments. My mother and I are entitled to all the money she is entitled to, including of course any interest.   They are a pitiful excuse of a bank, and after reading my reviews, I hope that others will not have to suffer similar consequences.   Tony Raymond (((REDACTED))) Baltimore, MD (((REDACTED))) 410-247-0837 traymond51@hotmail.com

Here’s an idea! You can...

mail a copy of your Ripoff Report to the Mainstream Media in New York. Maybe one of the Investigative Reporters will reach out to you and do a story on TV in order to expose what happened. If this happened to you, it is logical to conclude that it has happened to others, right?

Some of the addresses to the MSM in New York are available at this site. Just type in 271771 and they appear in Consumer Comment #1 at Ripoff Report 271771.

Good luck to you and your mother!

Some banks don't accept POAs unless they are done on the bank's own form. Internet says BOA is one of the worst. If your mom is not incompetent, get a POA form from BOA and have her complete it. If she is incompetent, see if you cab have the lawyer that did the DPOA or at least another lawyer speak to a BOA excutive on your behalf to get this paperwork accepted.

Has your mother been deemed incompetent my a physician?? If not then the POA is not applicable at this time. You need to speak with an Attorney about this because until your mother is indeed deemed incompetent she will need to be present and sign documentation in order to get her funds.

So best course of action is to speak with an Elder Care Attorney and not post the POA on a public site. I deal with this at my job where I do work with the elderly in LTC and rehab.

DID you provide them documents of DPOA?? Did you provide them the Drs information stating that your mother was deemed incompetent and could not longer take care of her finances?? If not then your MOTHER is the one who needs to take care of this because she is the primary on this account.

Simple solution - unless you can provide these documents then you are out of luck.
