On or about May 7, I made an appointment with Big O Tires at 1117 7th St. South in Great Falls, Montana, 406 205 2799, to get a front end alignment on my 1996 Ford E-350 motorhome. I informed them that I had just installed new upper and lower ball joints on both sides, and also installed new adjustable caster/camber bushings. I asked specific questions, made them aware that it was a motor home and that it had an awning on it. They assured me that they could do a complete alignment, including adjustment of caster and camber. I arrived at the location on the assigned date, May 15, about an hour ahead of the scheduled time of 1:00. I informed them again that I had just recently installed new upper and lower ball joints and new adjustable caster/camber bushings, and that there was also another new set of bushings of different settings that were in the cab of the vehicle. I left the vehicle there and returned at about 2:30. The work was not yet done, it was about 3:00 when they finished. I paid for the work and waited a few minutes until the vehicle was parked outside. After paying, I was told they were unable to adjust the caster and camber, because it didn't have the right bushings. They said the bushings were non-adjustable, and I told them 'no,' you put a socket wrench on them and turn them. Garrison also said he would need an impact hammer to widen the bracket that holds the bushing, I told him it wouldn't be necessary because I had just done it a few days ago. He said other things also that make me believe he hadn't tried to adjust the bushings.

Two days later, I submitted a review of Google Maps for the Big O store. I said it was disappointing and a waste of my time and money. I said that they failed to align my vehicle after assuring me they could do it. I also mentioned that they charged me $150 after telling me at the time I the appointment that it would be $140.

On Monday, Garrison of the Big O store called me and told me they would refund me $10 they overcharged me. He again gave me excuses as to why they couldn't adjust the caster and camber. Based on what he told me, it made me think that he never even tried.

In the days that followed, I called Big O customer relations at 866 834 2652 and requested to speak with a manager. I was told on six different occasions that the district manager would call me, however I have never received a call from them.

On the copy of the specifications sheet showing the results of their work, it says “This value is not within specifications. Tire wear, handling and safety problems may result.” They released my vehicle knowing that it could pose a safety issue.

When all is said and done, I have a vehicle that still needs an alignment and I am out $140.
