I’m the owner of Auburn Security Solutions LLC, a woman-owned small business in Texas. On April 8, 2025, I contacted GoDaddy for a basic website. What I received instead was a high-pressure sales pitch and a bloated $8,606.71 package. I was told my business would be vulnerable to hacking unless I purchased their “total protection” bundle.

This was not a consultation — it was a scare tactic.

Even GoDaddy’s own assigned website designer admitted during the April 17 consultation that I had been grossly oversold. I received a partial refund, but GoDaddy continues to withhold $3,635.88 tied to domain names and services I didn’t authorize, don’t need, and can’t even access.

To make matters worse, I am now locked out of my own site. I was passed to a billing rep named Cedrick — part of GoDaddy’s so-called “entire resolution team” based offshore in the Philippines. He promised to help, then ghosted me. U.S. reps refused to help, wouldn’t override Cedrick, and wouldn’t even provide his last name.

Support agents are trained to loop customers in circles. No one has authority, and everything routes back to one scripted wall. They deflect, stall, and deny responsibility until you either give up or pay more.

I have filed formal complaints with the Better Business Bureau, FTC, IC3 (FBI), CFPB, ICANN, the Texas Attorney General, and the Arizona Attorney General — all supported with documentation and receipts.

GoDaddy may be a recognizable name, but what they’re doing to small business owners like me is unethical and predatory. They weaponize confusion, fear, and outsourced indifference — all while profiting off services they never delivered.

I want my money back. But more importantly, I want this abuse exposed.
