So, I have tried their refund exception request option that they have, and they have denied my request. You will see the email that I send to GoDaddy for the refund exception request. below. But, in the mean time, not only do I now do not have a work email address that I need for my job, they have also cancelled my website hosting as well.
So, I now don't have a work email address that I can use for work, and now I do not have a website either. They led me to believe that I could also cancel my website hosting as I should be able to get the refund back on the remaining term that I have left with the web hosting. So, now, that it has been denied, I am stuck and am unable to work until I can get a work email address again. I did have one when I first signed up with GoDaddy that was good for a year.
And, now, a year has gone by and the complimentary email that was good for a year has now expired and I now have to pay for it. I had not idea when I first signed up that I would need a work email address and at the time I thought yea, that is OK if this is only good for a year. Well, fast forward and yes, I do need a work email address. It is imperative that I have one for my job. So, GoDaddy is impacting my ability to work. They are affecting my livelihood. I have found other hosting providers that do NOT charge extra to have email.
I was wanting to get the refund so that I can change to a different hosting provider. I hope you can advocate for me and help me to get this resolved. It is such a simple thing. And, I thought GoDaddy would understand my situation and offer a refund. But, they are not. So, I need help, please? Here is the copy of the email that I have sent to GoDaddy below:
Dear GoDaddy Customer Support,
I am writing to request an urgent refund exception for my current Websites + Marketing plan, which has a remaining term of three years. I am a Gig worker who relies heavily on having a functional work email address to secure and manage my employment opportunities. Unfortunately, the recent changes to GoDaddy’s email services have severely impacted my ability to continue working. More specifically, the year email plan that I have with GoDaddy has expired.
When I initially signed up with GoDaddy, the plan included a work email address that I used under AZ Computer Geeks that I paid for which was good for a year. This email service was critical for my business operations. However, this service has now expired, and I am unable to access the email address I was using. As you are aware, this email is an essential tool for my work, and without it, I am unable to operate my business effectively.
Given the current situation, I cannot afford to purchase the additional email plan through GoDaddy. Therefore, I need to switch to a hosting provider that includes email services in their hosting plans at no extra cost. As such, I am requesting a refund for the remaining three years of my Websites + Marketing plan to facilitate this transition.
This matter is extremely urgent, as I am currently unable to generate any income until I secure a new work email address. Prompt processing of this refund will allow me to quickly set up with another provider and resume my work activities. I kindly request that you process this refund exception as soon as possible to help me avoid further financial distress.
Thank you very much for your understanding and prompt assistance in this matter. I sincerely appreciate your help in resolving this issue swiftly.
