Home Warranty of America (HWA) - Choice Home Warranty (Same Company) Repeated Lack of Response and Unresolved Warranty Claim Edison NJ

I’m sharing my extremely frustrating experience with a home warranty company that I expected to provide reliable support during a home appliance failure. Unfortunately, that has not been the case.

Over the past several weeks, I have attempted to contact this company multiple times through email and phone to follow up on a refrigerator warranty claim. Despite repeated outreach—more than three emails and several calls—I received no communication, no updates, and no follow-through.

After engaging a second certified technician to evaluate the issue, it was confirmed that the damage was caused by a combination of normal wear and improper servicing by their assigned technician. The refrigerator has now been out of service for over six weeks, causing serious disruption to my household. Despite providing all necessary documentation and clarification, the claim was denied with a vague reference to policy exclusions and no engagement on the submitted evidence.

The company’s refusal to respond or escalate the matter demonstrates a clear lack of accountability and customer care. I attempted to resolve the matter amicably, even requesting an appeal per their procedures, but I have received nothing in return.

This experience has been incredibly disappointing. I urge anyone considering this company to proceed with caution, read the fine print, and be prepared for poor communication and inadequate support when you need it most.
