I am writing to warn others about my experience with JustAnswer.com, a website I used once, not to my satisfation, yet it managed to charge me $46 per month for nearly a year via PayPal, totaling hundreds of dollars.

I discovered the recurring charges by accident while reviewing my PayPal activity. I never received a confirmation, welcome email, usage notice, or even a monthly billing statement. There was no clear notification that I had subscribed to anything, and I never used or accessed the service except for that one time.

To make matters worse, JustAnswer hides their customer service phone number, making it difficult to contact them directly. I had to cancel the recurring charges manually through PayPal and am now going through a dispute process to request a full refund.

This type of deceptive billing—often called a “negative option” scam—relies on people not noticing small recurring charges, and it’s deeply unethical. I want others to be aware so they can check their statements and cancel any unauthorized charges.

I’ve submitted complaints to PayPal, the FTC, and I’m now sharing my experience here to help prevent others from falling into the same trap.
