McDonald's Had me pull up, left me there until I went inside, lost my food, and shorted me on the refund Cicero NY

I am a father of 3 girls. So of course I'm also running! So the other day me and my 6yo are headed to the elementary girls basketball game, as she is a cheerleader. We left the house 15min ahead sobwe could swing through McDonald's and grab her a happy meal.

We go through the rive thru as normal, and when we get up to the window they asked us to go wait in one of their parking spots and they'll bring the food out to us. So we do, no problem. But then we sit there. And we sit there. One lady did come up and ask if we ordered a McRib. Nope, McNugget happy meal and a Quarter Pounder.

So we wait. And after 15min I get my daughter out and head inside. After waiting a few more minutes for someone from the back to come out front, she takes my receipt and heads back into the back. After a couple more minutes, the manager comes out and says something about they lost my order and probably gave it to someone else. After letting her know that I am now late, cannot wait any longer, and just want my money back. She mumbles something about just getting there and opens the register drawer and gives me cash. Since she had my receipt I assumed it was correct, and since I'm late, I rush out the door.

So now I'm on the way to the elementary school, and my 6yo is balling because she's "starving" and doesn't understand why we didn't get McDonald's.

Screaming kid, running late to a holiday choir concert that she is in (after leaving early), being hungry and having no time to stop, and to top it all off.... I realize they short me $5!

Instead of wasting more time/gas/etc, I decided to file a complaint through their website. Figured they'd send me a $5 coupon or buy one get one free type thing, and we'd be even. Instead, I basically get an "I'm sorry" and they close out the complaint.

Done with McDonald's. Burger King is our new family favorite.
