It was Dec. 13, 2014 around 9:00pm a friend & i pulled into the McDonald's on N Tracy Blvd. in Tracy, Ca. I got out & went inside. An employee who happened to be a nice looking young man, asked to take my order. I then ordered 1 large sweet tea & 1 medium chocolate milkshake. Once i paid for my drinks a lady employee who appeared to be a supervisor/manager stated she was just making the sweet tea & it would be a couple of minutes. I did ask how long it was going to take. The lady employee stated about 3 minutes. Thats fine i will wait.
While i was waiting a customer whom had just gone threw the drive- thru came into the dining room carrying an order of french fries. The man told the young man behind the counter, his fries were cold & would like to get a fresh order of fries. The young man who was working the register apoligized to the man as he handed over his cold fries to the employee. I then witnessed along with the unsatisfied customer the employee walk over with the returned fries and dump them into the fresh fries. It was then the customer whom returned his fries asked the young lady (supervisor/manager) why did he just dump those fries in with the fries that were waiting to be served. The young lady then said to the man returning his fries, " He is learning."
This type of service is not acceptable. It deserves to be addressed IMMEDIATELY. A serious health risk , do these employees have to have a food service license?? Im assuming anyone who works around food is supposed to have one by law. What bothers me the most about this situation, is that the order of fries had been given to the customer thru the drive thru. They then were touched by the customer who may have sneezed, coughed, spit or even dropped them on the ground. Once returned inside they were dumped in with all the other cooked fries.
This type of food handling is UNSAFE, UNSANITARY & UNHEALTHY. Regardless if the employee was new and being trained. The lady supervisor/ manager should of been the one to say something to the young man about the proper procedures regarding returned food. The disgusted customer who returned his fries should not of been the one to address the young mans actions. The person who trained or is training the young man to work there should be reprimanded for her carelessness in serving such food.
I would like to also say i personally used to love McDonalds fries, but after this incident im not sure i will be buying them any longer.
