I was contacted by a Manny Orsini who represented himself as a loan officer for 1st Century Mortgage. He said the company had applicants in my area who would be getting a mortgage and needed Homeowner's insurance. He said he would provide me with these names as referrals. I asked, "are you a lead service" and he answered, NO.
I was skeptical but he and his manager assured me that they were a Mortgage Company providing referrals at $10.00 each. I decided to try it for a month.
IT took almost one month for them to begin providing me with information. The majority of the "referrals" were for health insurance which had nothing to do with what I contracted for. I had 2 referrals listed as Homeowner's out of 16 provided: AND one phone number had been disconnedted and the other person said they had no idea what I was talking about and would never give their information to anyone over the Internet.
I immediately faxed them a cancellation form which they conveniently put on thier WEB referral delivery site.
So there you have it, 1st Centruy got me for $600.00 for the first month and gave me nothing of value, they misrepresented themselves and I only hope that so many people read this and learn from my mistake that no one else will suffer.
I also intend to report this Internet Fraud to the FBI's complain center.

First Century Mortgage worked great for my branch.

AUTHOR: Jeff Taylor - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, June 01, 2009

I currently have a branch in El Segundo, and fortunately I was among the first clients that First Century mortgage called. As a result, I was able to get policies exclusively for my area. For the last 3 months, we have been getting referrels through First Century's clients and I have been able to reduce preexisting marketing expenses by 45% by stopping other methods and relying heavily on First Century. I will say that not all leads have not been 100% flawless. However, if we are unhappy about them in any way, shape or form they replenish our account with referrels within a matter of time after they get new clients in our area. If you have any concerns, just be sure you get the name of who you talk to so that you can talk to them when problems arise. I have a close relationship with the LO who constructed our agreement and was more than willing to reconfigure the contract for additional referrels and yet still meet the requirements within our budget. Besides, to break even with the investment, I just need 2-3 policies to be written up. The task is far from difficult. If it is difficult for a branch, then I suggest your brokerage does a reevaluation of how they fit into the competitive market of insurance that we are in.

I completely understand your frustration and I wish you would have called us so we could fix the problem. When dealing with this type of referrals their could be mistakes that accrue, we are here to help. When dealing with computer programs and internet if one code is off you will get the wrong client and i am assuming that this was the case. It was also stated that one on the phone numbers was disconnected and that can happed, maybe the homeowner did not pay the phone bill, after all it was one not all.

We all join different things Gym, classes, and marathons and find out that it is not for us, as stated that you decided to try it for one month.
We are here to help in any way, and not do not strive on $600 from this referral program that is new to us as well, we are simply trying to help the homeowners that are in need of insurance.
feel free to contact us so we can help.
