86th Street Photo And Video If you do not buy accessories they are out of stock Internet

I ordered a Panasonic DMC-TZ5S off their website for $209, including shipping, on July 10, 2008. I was emailed a notice that contained my order number and information that my order was being processed. The notice also asked me to call and confirm my order which I thought a little strange. I called and spoke with Jason at ext. 231 and he assured me that the camera was in stock and that it would be shipped out immediately. Jason offered accessories which I had already purchased and he said no problem. On July 31, 2008 I emailed the company to find out the status of my order and was told it was on back order. On August 12, 2008, I was again emailed and was informed that the product was still on back order and it would be another 6-8 weeks.

I find the company's misleading sales procedures deplorable. This company should implement better customer service and better inventory tracking to ensure accurate stock.

What I really think is that 86th Street Photo and Video advertises deceptively low prices on cameras then tries to sell the accessories at highly inflated prices to make up for the loss leader. When a customer declines to purchase the exhorbitantly priced accessories, the order item becomes suddenly on backorder.
