900 Direct ripoff BILLED CHARGES ON OLD ADDRESS PHONE NUMBER FROM PREVIOUS STATE LIVED IN! Canoga Park California

We recieved a bill today from 900 direct with a charge of $9.90 from previous telephone number and at our previous address.
Although we had the phone # disconnected on 6/1/2004, the 900 direct bill states that a call was made from our previous phone number on 10/4/04. FOUR MONTHS LATER.
We attempted to call 900 direct they were rude. We will attempt to contact our former local telephone service provider, also state of Rhode Island attorney generals office. Any other suggestions?

There are occasions in which billing name and address databases are not properly updated when a person moves or changes his/her number. It sounds like the call in question should be billed to the new owner of your old phone number.
I can correct that mistake if that is the case, but I need the account number listed on the invoice you received in order to do so.
