A+ Services A+ Septic, Plumbing and Electric Gave incorrect/misleading information and tried to charge much more than what the work entailed. Olympia, Washington

Requested A+ Services to perform an inspection and pumping of septic tank prior to sale of property in Shelton, Washington.  A+ Services came to property earlier than agreed and pumped septic without any of us on site.   A+ Services then informed us that there was a crack in the septic tank up near the top and it needed to be repaired (with no testing).  A+ Services informed us that the repair would entail pouring 4-5 inches of concrete on the bottom of the tank (not cracked) and also patching the crack towards the top for approximately $3,500.00.

This all sounded fishy so we contacted another septic company who said they would come out and look at the tank.  This company informed us that the crack would not matter as long as the tank held water for 48 hours (it did), and that if it did not hold it would cost approximately $600.00 to repair.  This company also informed us that there was absolutely no need to pour additional cement in the bottom of a Septic tank for a crack towards the top (thought that was fishy).  This company also informed us that the crack looked "Very New" and that they had received reports from other people about A+ Services shoddy work practices.

So, we are out the intitial inspection and pumping of contents based on an amount that we could not verify because A+ Services came out and performed it before we arrived on scene.  But luckily, we did not fall for the exorbitant repair.

Please do not use A+ Services unless you do not have any other source and if you do then make sure that you have someone there monitoring them at all times.
