I purchased washer and dyer from Aaron'a Renral in August of 2008. I signed the retal agreement for monthly payments, but they called three or more times a day two weeks after the merchandise was purchased. I did not understand why. They apologised. The next nmonth my payment was due on a sunday they called many times on monday I was not home and when I called back they were rude and treating me like a common criminal. I was very affinded. i spoke with the regional manager. he assured me that would not happen again. In January of this year my job laid off several employee's
I was one of them. The company was not doing well because of the economy.
I called Aaron's management to let them know situation. I asked them if I could wait at least two weeks to make January's payment becuse my car needed new parts. They aggreed but one week later they were calling non stop again. They started coming by my home and knocking so loud theat my three year old child would wake up crying from his nap. My neighbor also coplained. I once again called Dawayne and he told me it would not happen again. Whatever, it's like having a heart attack everyday. I fell behind on my payments in febuary because my unempoyment claim is taking a very long time. I called dawayne to see what I could do and he asked again why did'nt I called them back. Again I told him they are so nasty. I also informed him that a employee by the name of John called and told me he was the regional manager of bartow and he wanted his merchandise that day. He told me to load it up in my truck and bring it to the Bartow,Fl store. I am still fighting.

Let them take their over priced stuff back. Look in the Sunday paper and buy used washer and dryer there. It will be a bit of a inconveince for a little while. But once its done, you will not have to deal with the collection calls. You can get good deals on used stuff. I just bought a brand new black futon/bed/couch from Goodwill it still had the tag on it, from Target. It was a display that Target donated. I paid $75 for it. The price at Target was $175. I redo my family room all the time using Goodwill. I have kids, dogs, etc.. When the couch looks ratty out it goes, and I go get another. The poster before me is so right, about resale shopping.

Goodwill Lakeland

AUTHOR: Sherry - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, May 27, 2009

Goodwill in Lakeland on So. Florida Avenue has a big store room of used furniture for reasonable prices. Let the rental furniture go back, learning this lesson the hard way, and buy your furniture outright. Buy used furniture that is stable and sturdy, and ignore the patterns. You can cover any furniture with reasonably priced material on sale or clearance, or sheets, to cover a pattern you don't like. How much better will you feel spending a couple hundred dollars to refurnish your entire living room, rather than much, much more than that in interest on second rate, overpriced furniture.

Alternatively, look for stockroom show pieces that go for cut prices because they have a few dings or something on them. You can save a lot of money that way too.

The Most EXPENSIVE WAY to BUY THINGS for YOUR HOME!

AUTHOR: Joe - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, April 15, 2009

Did it ever occur to you to BUY your household goods outright?

That means USED furniture.

That means furniture you can assemble yourself from IKEA, from Wal-Mart.

That means furniture from Big Lots.

And you can't have it all and have it now IF YOU CAN'T AFFORD IT.

Wanting it all and being able to AFFORD it are often two different things.
I like the things I get from Rent a Center and Aaron's but a rental contract like this to me is generally an unconscionable contract and so I BUY THE FURNITURE AFTER IT HAS BEEN RENTED. THE SAME FURNITURE YOU ARE PAYING A LOT OF MONEY FOR, I GET FOR CHEAP AFTER IT IS RETURNED.

IT IS THEIR FURNITURE. YOU AR JUST RENTING THE USE OF IT. IT DOES NOT BELONG TO YOU UNLESS YOU HAVE PAID FOR IT.

I OWN ALL OF MY FURNITURE. I CAN SLEEP ON MY OWN BED, SIT ON MY OWN CHAIRS AND WATCH MY OWN TV.

all of my furniture is paid for.

THESE PEOPLE, SAD TO SAY, ARE WITHIN THEIR RIGHTS. THEY MIGHT EVEN BE ABLE TO FILE THEFT BY CONVERSION CHARGES AGAINST YOU.

THEY WANT THE PAYMENT THAT YOU AGREED TO GIVE THEM OR THEY WANT THEIR MERCHANDISE BACK --IT BELONGS TO THEM.

If I were you , I would learn from this experience.

Do not try to get more than you can afford.

It's still Aaron's property, not yours. I would be wanting MY stuff back, too !! Pay up or give it back. You are breaking the law.

Rental

AUTHOR: Ashley - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, April 15, 2009

So you are behind in payments on a rental property. This is their property, not your property. You are upset because they are trying to collect the money or get the merchandise back from you?

Not a ripoff. They want their money or their product. You did sign a contract and they are in no legal obligation to care about your employment situation.
