Anyone considering signing up to be an Independent Representative for a telecommunications company called ACN might want to do some actual due diligence by typing 'acn scam' into a search engine, also the company president's name, Greg Provenzano. Of course, I didn't do that before I paid out the $499 to get in on this "ground floor" opportunity.
I was pulled in by a very persuasive guy who ran an ad under "Sales" in the local newspaper; he convinced me I could be making over $10000 a month in 120 days, that ACN was a 'short window of opportunity' that wouldn't come again, and yadda-yadda.
Like I said, he was very convincing, represented himself as an ACN Regional Vice President who had been asked by ACN to start a "hybrid group" in my city, and that I had 48 hours to get in.
I could go on, it was all hype. I found out there are hundreds of people in my city alone already signed up. And I alienated my family and friends by pushing it on them. ACN has had great difficulties in Australia and Canada, because those countries recognize a pyramid scheme when they see it.
The reality is that ACN rakes in millions in their $499 sign up fees and that money apparently is used to pay out recruiting bonuses; the "residual income" pitch is strictly to get you hooked.

Completely False!
AUTHOR: R. Michael Gonzalez - ()
SUBMITTED: Friday, March 15, 2013
I have written so many long and detailed responses to all of these baseless claims by ANONYMOUS sources, that It's nauseating, so I'll just keep them simple.
If you want to know the truth about this just go to - ACNIBO: Read The Facts - and read the article. It will only take a few minutes and you will understand the facts, not just opinions of 100s of ANONYMOUS complainers, who claim to know the truth, but wont reveal who they actually are.
There is no point in defending ACN from people who just want to believe how bad it is, they will seek what they want to believe, if you're one of them, dont bother reading the article you might have to change your mind.

Due Diligence

"Anyone considering signing up to be an Independent Representative for a telecommunications company called ACN might want to do some actual due diligence by typing 'acn scam' into a search engine." See, that's the problem, people nowadays think that typing something in to Google constitutes research. What happens is someone Googles ACN scam? They find pages filled with stories like this guy who is either flat out lying or has read just enough to make himself look foolish.
Anything can be posted on the internet, unvetted, as evidenced by the gentleman here. If he had actually bothered to do his research CORRECTLY, he would have seen that the lawsuits in Australia and Montana centered around ACN reps slamming customers (switching their services without authorization).
This is NOT what ACN is about. The IBOs responsible for those practices were kicked out. ACN has never wavered from its commitment to integrity.

Unfortunately you must have misunderstood... In order to grow Any business you must do the right things to grow a new business. ACN is an amazing company with amazing financial opportunity but if you do not do what it takes to build a business then of course you will not achieve residual income as most of us do. I have been a part of their company for 5 months... I earn Residual Income... Every Month. It is always a Great thing to be with a company that has a system already in place for success. The people that Decide to make it work, follow the system and it works. I wish you much success in whichever path you chose. Residual Income is Real when you put forth the effort needed to create it.

You can tell those who actually have not been in or understand ACN . This company has an A rating with The BBB. And also if you read your IBO rep agreement you have up to 14 days and you can get your money back. It never ceases to amaze me how people talk about a $499 investment like they were spending $500,000, i am a traditonal business man who has invested in a few ventures myself and i've spent thousands of dollars on somethings that worked and some that didnt and when I saw the opportunity
It was a complete no brainer, for those of you who dont understand 1099 income . Just by joining ACN you have a tax write off, That being said between me my fiancee . We have recouped our investment and have become profitable. I personally dont like Donald Trump and would not take marital, hair, or political advice from him but one thing he does know something about making money. I dont take advice from broke people about making money just like I would not take marital advice from people that have been married several times. So keep it coming ACN haters we will still be here when you are ready to do this business and do it right.

The Truth Truth about working at ACN
AUTHOR: matteo - (United States of America)
SUBMITTED: Tuesday, January 10, 2012
I too worked for the call center... i actually had a completely opposite experience... I received calls weekly from those who had started their business and after one month, wanted to quit. and expected their money back or just wanted to pass on their negative attitude to anyone who would listen...There were several things that these people had in common. #1 unrealistic expectations- who in their right mind thinks that you can drop 499, spend 30 days in a business and expect to be wealthy? #2 they practiced very poor manners and used countless profanities (no wonder nobody wanted to work with you) and #3 they did not do any work, when reviewing the accounts, it was always clear that they had put no effort into acquiring customers or business partners, no records of them calling to set up accounts, no records of them calling at all except to try to give a sob story and quit... What isn't mentioned is the countless people calling in to reconcile account issues, people with questions on services and compensation, people actually putting forth the effort to learn how to run an effective ACN business...None of which complaining because they were usually the ones who were hitting positions and making money...they usually called to confirm dates on when points would show up and when checks were going to be on their way... both good problems to have... I do know several people that i worked with though who wouldnt be able to keep a job at walmart, let alone a company that supports entrepreneurs... One of said people is probably the source of this comment...I can only assume...

Stop using Donald Trump to sell the scam
AUTHOR: Gimme A Break - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Friday, May 01, 2009
Shaun, i laugh everytime I see an ACN argument using the "Donald Trump" comment as a means of validation. Donald trump is a PAID endorser. He gets paid to say nice things about the company. He gets paid to make an appearance. If I had the money, I'd hire him to endorse something too. He's reading a script!! As for ACN being mentioned in the Apprentice, they were a sponsor who PAID big bucks to integrated into the show.
I didnt fall for the ACN pitch when i went to a meeting. I sat there with questionmarks in my head instead of dollar signs. I went to learn about the product but instead got pitched on how I could be a rep...for a product that they never even told us about. That was my cue to say "no way". It was all to fishy for me...it required more "work" than the "spare time" they clain you can do it in. This has to be 24-7 of recruiting people to pay money. there is no selling other than sellinga dream. I took the paperwork home to read and was shaking my head when isaw there was missing info. Boxes to check stating that i had read something that wasnt even on that page. yearly fees and other things not mentioned like a website fee ???. I hoped that everyone read what they were signing but some people don't. I can't believe people are so quick to act on something with no research. And I also can't believe people would take advantage of othe people's impulses to mak a quick buck.

TRUTH about ACN!!
AUTHOR: Nicklas - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Thursday, February 19, 2009
The truth is less than 10% of the people involved in the ACN organization as "sales reps" are able to make a FULL_time living at this(500 plus per week). I work in their Call center and I KNOW this for a FACT. 90% of the people that paid their $499 are struggling to make their $499 back each month.Very few do. Very few.
The economy right now is in the dumps and people are having trouble building their downlines. And that is just ONE of the many problems right now.
Thank god I work in the ACN call center where as horrible of a work environment as it is- AT least I can pay my monthly rent and credit card bills ON TIME !!

ACN- an incredible company
AUTHOR: Shaun - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Thursday, May 29, 2008
I've been involved with ACN for many years. It's an incredible company to get involved in. It's not a ground floor. They are a 15 year old world wide company, Donald Trump has endorsed them. They've been featured in several magazines like USA Today, Success, Fortune etc. Inc 500 rated them the 22nd fastest growing company. As far as a pyramid? Look at every business model in the world. It's all designed like this, but they're not pyramid's. You actually have the choice to either aquire customers without recruiting, or you can expand your income earnings faster by aquiring business partners. The choice is yours.
ACN gives you a huge opportunity for the average person who has never ran a business before, to make an incredible amount of money. They need to capatalize on this by and learn how to build a business, the opportunity to earn a substantial amount of money. Lot's of people that came from the ordinary world have succeeded in ACN, a lot of success stories to take a look at for those who followed the ACN system and did what was needed to succeed. Those who did not follow the system, failed and call it a scam. When it's far from it. People do this because they can't fess up to their failures. They don't want to take the blame for something they didn't get done. In Network Marketing, it's so easy to pass the blame onto the main company. Making it look like it's their fault, when in actuallity it is not. Not taking the effort needed to succeed and thinking they can sign up and money starts rolling. You have to "build" your business for this to happen. When they don't do something (which is 'very' simple to do) then they pass the buck in order to justify their failure. When they should mount up to the "real" reason why they failed. It's the representative's fault for not managing and properly running their business. The training is available for this, but when they don't go to the training, their quick to say it's either not available (when it was) or it didn't work (they didn't follow or utilize the training available to them). If your going to get involved with ACN then you need to look at it as a business and build it. Not a job. It's not a job! Build the business with the tools available and the knowlege offered to you by people who have succeeded. Take action, learn the industry and make it happen. don't throw your hands up and do nothing then walk away saying it's a scam. The opportunity is there, plenty of people around who have a successful ACN business because they put the effort into it. Not looking at it as a 9 to 5 job working for anyone else. Any successful business person knows what it takes to make it in business, you have the opportunity to learn this, so capatalize on it and make something of your life!
If you think about it, the American business model is build the same way! Welcome to Corporate America! Get a peice of paper out. Take any corporation to use as an example. On the top of your paper, draw a circle. This circle represents the Owner or partnership owners, Then write two circles under that (President/ CEO) and the Vice President. Write a few more circles under that and you have corporate management positions. A few circles under that and you have store managers, a few circles under that and you have store department managers, a few circles under that and you have sales reps. People don't realize that but unless it's a one man show no hired help, no independent representatives, everyone works in a pyramid!
There is a one time start up fee that covers all the employees you have at your fingertips and telephone, or you can walk in on. They take care of all your billing, accounts receivables, accounts payables, customer services, order entry, data entry, cross referencing (meaning when a new product or service comes out they let all your customer's know about it), workman's comp, insurance, licensing, payroll, Inventory, paperwork, etc. Things that cost a traditional business thousands of dollars each month. When partnering up with a business, the company takes care of all that for you. I tell you, it relieves a huge amount of stress and head aches to have someone else take care of these things for you. Alls you have to focus on is acquiring customers for your business and the company takes care of the rest for a one time fee of $499. This is very cheap compared to what a traditional business has to pay out each month to have all this done. From experience with a traditional business, this is like having an Angel on your shoulders!

WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE

Actually I have researched the company for 10 years since 1997. I never joined but signed up on the service. And yes I did save money and still do.
When I took a look at ACN it was only in the United States and only marketed Long Distance through LCI. Now ACN is there own phone company and has expanded into 19 countries and now markets Local & LD, wireless, and VOIP technology. Acn is growing by leaps or bounds, that's why I just got started and within a few months I have expanded into 5 states and my downline is blowing up.
Make you talk to much and maybe that's is why you didn't have success. But you should get your facts straight because the residual is real.
Some of my personal friends stuck with ACN from 1997 and the residual is real, you have to build it.
How many presentations did you do, how many confernece calls did you personally hold, how many traingings did your have.
If you have a number then it was obviously not enough.
