Acu-Shield Financial No refund Las Vegas Nevada

I signed up in 2003 with DebtCo which soon became Acu-Shield Financial. I did everything they asked of me by faxing late notices and reporting collection calls.
In four years time they had settled all but three of my accounts. One of those three was offering one heck of a deal and time ran out on it because Acu-Shield dragged their feet.

At the conclusion of the program, I was told that I would be receiving a refund of $677.00. I was in touch with one of the ladies and she kept telling me she would look into it. At the end of 2008, I again called about the refund and was given a number to the corporate office. I was told that due to the holidays the office would not be open until January 5, 2009.

I called on Jan 2 and left a message on the machine indicating that I would be calling again on the 5th. When I did so, a message told me that the number could not be reached from my calling area even though it had 3 days earlier.

The web site has been shut down, the number changed and e-mail is undeliverable.
I wonder how many other people have been swindled by them.
I heard on the radio today about a company called Debt Shield. I wonder......
