Adair Homes's trick is to use lower price at the begining, lure you to sign a very unfair contract which will not allow you to hire attorney to sue them in court, and then milk you at every step of during the building process.

Yes, their contract will not allow you to sue them in court. This is their prerequisite for 'helping' you build your house.This is the key for their tricks. All your nightmare will start from here.

Once they got your deposit, they will not do anything about your home. Instead, they wait till the price freezing period, 120 days, to expire or close to expire. Then, they come back to you ask for more money.

For us, they came back for more money in about 3 months after we pushed them many time to move forward. Since we already sold our house based on their advice, we chose to move forward at the begining. But, in four weeks, they raised the price two more times. This was before our project was even started.

So we started looking at their reviews online. And then we found that this is their standard practice. A lot of people are their victims. After talking to some of Adair clients, we decided to terminate the contract and stop the process.

But they refused to refund your deposit. And they threaten us to charge 10% of the total contract amount.

We have wasted tons of times dealing with them. Both my wife and I were so frustrated. We had done everything that we could to move forward the project since we sold our house per their instruction. I have been emailing them asking for progress _at least_ one email per week. Plus we have a lot of phone call to them asking for progress.

Some of Adair Home's clients were even worse than us. They chose to move forward to build their house. Once the building process started, they still come back and ask for more money. So comared with them, I felt that I was lucky by cutting the tie with them earlier even though they refused to refund our money.
