Allied Publishers Service Of Mid Atlantic States Put a HOLD on my debit card for the first payment without telling me they'd do that. Ripoff Buffalo New York

These people called me at work and I accepted what sounded like a good thing. They said they needed my debit card number for verification purposes only and that no money would be automatically taken out before I received the literature and sent the payment myself. They called me 32 more times saying my credit card number must be wrong. I told them it was a debit card-again-and said my understanding was that no money would be debited until I personally did it. They again assured me that was the case and I said Friday was the day my paycheck deposited onto the card. I told different people this twice. After the second time I told them that,on Friday there was a HOLD put on the $26! It was THEN that I realized I had no contact info for THEM!!! Stupid me! I called my card people and they said it would "hold" the funds for 8 days and then release them back to me which is just what happened. During that time-on the 7th day-I received the mailing from Allied Publishers telling me the total price would be $780. Now,I am sending them a letter cancelling and telling them I don't appreciate the hold on my funds with no warning. I would email them but can't find an email address. Beware of these people.
