Upon relocating to a new area, I had minimal available service at my new home with Tmobile, who I have been happy with for over six years. I needed a new carrier.

I went on line and ordered a phone from LetsTalk on 7-20-06. LetsTalk set up my service with the carrier I chose, Alltel. I received my phone 7-26-06. The phone only worked for three days so I called and I got approval to return the phone on 7-28-06, which I did. Was given full refund and new order.

Seventeen days later, on 8-14-06 I received another phone. Upon receiving the phone I got error recordings when dialing any telephone numbers. I called Alltel customer service and was eventually transferred to someone who talked me through the necessary programming of the phone. I also informed customer service I had no phone from 7-28-06 to 8-14-06.

Dropped calls combined with all the previous difficulties with Alltel and LetsTalk finally forced me to call LetsTalk on 8-24-06 to tell them I wanted to cancel my service. They authorized the return and I mailed it back on 8-30-06. I called Alltel and told them the situation. I was told by Alltel I could not cancel because LetsTalk would have to assure Alltel that my phone was returned. I was told Alltel would know this information, just as they knew I needed service from LetsTalk.com.

I have continued to follow up with Alltel with several phone calls and had to repeat my sequence of events each time. To my surprise a full bill came for September 06, then a full bill for October 06 and the 200.00 disconnect penalty first shows up, then a late payment charge in November 06. Each time I called I had to start over from the begining. Luckily, I have all my emails to and from LetsTalk and tracking numbers to show when my phones were recieved and returned.

I sent a certified letter to Alltel with all these emails and requested a correct bill and still no response. I also sent emails with these attachments and still no response. Now I have learned they have damaged my credit report by reporting this ripoff! Can't wait to talk to a lawyer!! I have very good documentation. A $403.57 bill, hours of wasted time, two rude collection companies calling me and a continuous nightmare for less than one month's "service". BUYER BEWARE!

I have been in contact with Alltel through email for over a month and today was told that adjustments were made to my account. I called customer service to confirm and, at last, my account now has a zero balance and zero written off. I tried to get them remove it from Experian and Equifax but was told that would take up to 90 days. The best I could do is get a promised letter confirming my account status.

I was fortunate to find a good Alltel employee who was willing to research and correct the mistakes made. I wish the same for others who are having trouble. Keep records, be persistant and try to get the an individual to help are the best advise I can offer.
