Alside Associated Materials Thirty-three sets of Defective Casement Vinyl Windows New Castle, Delaware
*General Comment: Should not be a problem
Only 4 of the 33 sets of vinyl casement windows that were installed in October 2010 will close. The vinyl clad glass units severely warped. Requested a warranty claim form in August, 2011 which after several letters to Ohio & DE I did finally receive in September, 2011, which I promptly sent back with pictures and other documentation & haven't heard a word since (its now the end of December, 2011). I've had to install plastic sheeting on the inside of the windows because they don't close - absolutely ridiculous given they are brand new windows. So many phone calls, emails & letters with no response from the Warranty Department.

Should not be a problem

I regret you are having a bad experience with your windows. I’m not with Associated Materials nor do I work for any of their distributors. I’m an independent contractor in Texas.
I have used windows manufactured by AMI for many years with few if any defects. It seems to me that your contractor should have resolved any problem with your windows. The only reason AMI or any of their distributors would give the contractor a problem would be if the windows were damaged after they were delivered. It’s a good possibility that the windows may not have not been stored properly either at the warehouse or the job site. And they may not have been installed properly. That would be the only reason I can think of Associated Materials giving you a problem. I could be wrong but I have never had a problem with their windows or warranty issues.
There are a lot of people installing windows that would be better suited doing something else.
But it does sound like an installation or storage issue. Look for a good window contractor with professional window installers not carpenters or helpers. Hopefully one will represent you with the distributor or manufacturer.
I truly hope you resolve the problem wish I could help.
God bless
