I got this number out of the newspaper. I called and was told this service was used for the military to help families buy homes that were in need of payment takeovers. I was told that the houses were empty and ready for someone to move in and that there was some sort of  key lock box and once I paid the 199.00 I would get access to these list of homes and be able to call and go looking at homes. I was also told that I would not be dealing with the home owners. Once I paid I found none of this to be true.

When I looked at the list of homes and tried to look into how to go see a home I did not find any numbers to call and I was lead to these letters I had to send to home owners and wait for them to respond. I sent out over 20 letters and I have not heard anything back. Most of the homes were abandoned and the letter I sent was returned to me, when I called about what to do I was told I had to send out more letters and that they didnt know why the home owners had left. When I tried to get my refund I was told i needed 5 home owners to respond so that I could get my money back, yet none of my letters have gotten any respone. I want my money back.

Saw them on Craigslist

AUTHOR: ag519 - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, June 14, 2012

I saw the ad for American Standard Online on Craigslist and called last week.  I received the same information that has bee given to all people who have called.  When you see a potential situation to own a home and at less risk and "hassle" it is very appealing.  Especially when you have credit issues and can not own a home outright.  I ALMOST fell for the scam, but my husband encouraged me to use my analytical brain and take out the emotion and do my research.  He told me I knew better than to just jump into something like this blind.  $199 may not sound like a lot of money, but with times the way they are, it could make or break the month.  So, this morning I sat down and started my research.  Here is what I have found:

   1.  American Standard Online is posting on Craigslist in multiple cities and states throughout the
U.S.  I am in South Carolina and there were other reports from CA, NE, IL, NJ, etc.etc.
   2.  The "product" does not work the way that they advertise.  There is very broad information on
their listings; very little detail.  I have yet to come across a real person with a comment of
        success using this program.
   3.  The "refundable" amount of $199 is technically refundable after 90 days, however you MUST
have 5 refusal letters, certified, from the homeowners who rejected you, and you must send
these to the company.  It is NOT a "no questions asked" refund.
   4.  Apparently there are other methods to finding pre-foreclosed homes and rent to own homes.  I
haven't found any in particular at this moment, but I am told that there are free listings.  I will
begin that search as soon as this comment is completed.

I hope this information helps those of you who have found these ads on Craigslist or have come across this company in other ways.  I would hate to see any more people wasting money on a program that doesn't seem to work.

I will be saving my $199.  Good Luck!
