I was contacted by telemarketer from American Values on or about March 4, 04. I was told that if I agreed to a one time charge of $1.95 to evaluate this money saving program. I would receive $200.00 in gas vouchers immediately!

I never received the ANYTHING from them. Later discovered that the program was rigged and there were no gas vouchers available immediately.

I was then charged $119.90 by them. Never had I discussed a $119.90 charge. I contacted both American Values and was told I would receive a refund as soon as I sent them a letter requesting a refund.

In the letter I wrote; "I canceled my membership as soon as as I saw how you people do business, I never received the information about your service, and frankly , now I don't want it. Now I have to show YOU proof that you billed me in error! Never in all my 56 years on this planet have I had to show proof that a company billed me, every other company I ever did business with had their own records, and knew when they had screwed up! I really wonder how many others you have done this to (and who never saw this charge in their account). WOW, what a business, bill someone for services never rendered... this is better than printing your own money (the Feds won't bother you). All one has to do is send out all these ficitious charges and wait to see who complains, and then do nothing!! I'm not the one, and if there is anything I can do to put you out of business...."

I had called E*TRADE BANK seeking help in the matter and they said there was nothing they could do. So I continued to try to get a refund on my own, and continued to contact State and Federal agencies for help.

I have over thirty phone calls to the company to no avail and I'm still being promised a refund six months later (would you believe). They contined to lie about my refund, knowing that they had no intention of ever sending me anything.

I demand that E*Trade Bank do something about this unauthorized transaction against my account. American Values should not be allowed to continue to victimize and American public, and E*Trade Bank should not allow this company to remove funds from anyone's account. At the very least ETRADE BANK should issue a warning that there are many complaints against this business. And any other business like American Values. If this is what American values are all about, then I see no future for our country!

I never got my money returned

AUTHOR: John - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, April 03, 2006

I called them up about 10 times, they made promisses, and in the end I just gave up. I never got a penny returned. These sobs can't make a living an honest way, they have to rip off anyone stupid enough who believe their load of crap. I filed a report on them with even the FBI for cryiong out loud, and as far as I can tell they are still in business, maybe under a different name. The money is too good to change the scam.

I sent ETRADE a copy of the web site for them to see how many people are filing complaints against American Values...
