6/21/06 I purchased an automotive lift which had a two-piece tower design. 6/27/06 I refused the lift due to freight damage. 7/7/06 A new lift was shipped via Yellow Transportation. I accepted and installed this lift. 7/20/06 The lift had major problems with the design. As mentioned earlier, each tower on the lift had two pieces. Each time the carriage was raised, it would cut a piece of the carriage bushings, thus destroying them. Chunks of the lift were falling out every time the lift was raised. I still have a bag of these pieces in my possesion. I spoke to Mike Nees about the problem. He said he not only understood the problem, but admitted that there was a design flaw, and told me that he would send me a new lift with the two pieces of each tower welded together, thereby creating "one-piece" towers. 9/5/06 The "welded" lift arrived, but I refused it. The towers were "welded" but the welds were not ground down, thereby defeating the purpose of preventing the carriage bushings from destroying themselves.
I called Mike again, and this time he said there was a newly designed one-piece tower lift that I may be interested in. I asked Mike if I could come and see the lift before purchasing it. He said no problem, so I drove to Rhode Island (the warehouse) to meet him. We spoke for about an hour, and he showed me the new lift. It seemed like this lift would work great for me, and he said he would send me a new lift right away. 12/19/06 (Three months later)
After many inquiries about the whereabouts of the lift, it finally arrives, and I installed it (after un-installing the old one.) 1/07 I returned the lift I had here. 2/28 The "newly-designed" lift is of very poor quality. It is a 10,000 pound capacity lift, yet when I lift any vehicle over 5000 pounds, the tops of the towers are deforming, twisting, and bending, and the carriage bushings are collapsing internally. This is extremely dangerous.
I contacted the company as soon as I noticed the severity of this problem. I spoke with Becky Hobin (customer service manager) four or five times, explaining to her that I wished to return the lift, and each conversation ended with her telling me she would get back to me, but she never did. 3/5/07 I received an e-mail from Mary Lopatosky, (who has still not revealed her "title" to me) stating that if I wanted to return the lift I would have to pay $984.81, which is the cost of ALL of the shipping charges for all four lifts. She said there was nothing wrong with any of the lifts I received/returned, and said she shipped them all to other customers.
I wrote her another e-mail and sent her MANY pictures of the extensive damage of the lift I installed initially. She responded back through e-mail and said that she spoke to Mike Nees and he said there's nothing wrong with the equipment I have. I called the company to attempt to talk with Mary over the phone. She would not take my calls. I called back an hour or so later, and got SOMEBODY on the phone (they wouldn't say their name), but they obviously knew my situation because they said "You got your response already" and then proceeded to ask me "Do you studder?" I asked her if she was Mary, and she SCREAMED into the phone "I AM NOT" and HUNG UP ON ME. 3/5/07 Mary sends me a final e-mail, telling me her "hands are tied" and theres nothing she can do to help me. I am appauled at the customer service (or lack thereof) I have received from America's Pride.
This situation has been going on for almost a year and a half, i have contacted the BBB (which they have just been revoked from), the attorney general in 2 states and lawyers, it seems Americas pride knows the game, there is not much we can do as consumers without spending a lot of money. I have no idea how anyone in that company sleeps at night. Imagine reading all these complaints about your business. how can you truly go on? Mike Nees, are you reading this stuff? Man you need a real swift kick of reality brought to you. I am prepared to spend any amount of time and effort necessary to make Americas pride cease operation. Watch out Mike!

STOP! ..before you think about using the Better Business Bureau (BBB)... CLICK HERE to see how other consumers were victimized by the BBB's false or misleading information. Don't be fooled! It has been reported, when there are thousands of complaints and other investigations underway by authorities, the BBB has no choice but to finally give an UNsatisfactory rating to a BBB member business that is paying the BBB big membership fees every year. When a business is reported that is NOT a BBB member, BBB files WILL more likely show an UNsatisfactory rating, then reportedly shake down that company to become a member of the BBB. One positive thing about the BBB is, either way, if a business has an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB, you can be sure, the business is bad. But what about all those BBB member businesses that had complaints filed against them? Consumers never get to hear about them. What about the BBB advertising to the public? Is this a false and misleading perception they are giving about consumer confidence when dealing with a business? Click here to understand more of what consumers and business alike are saying about the BBB. You decide. ..Remember. The BBB membership is not earned, it's paid for!

You should try using Lift Works lift company. They aren't the cheapest but the products they offer and the service provided are top notch.
