It's a long story, so I'll summarize. We've been working with Amerisave since last June on a new home loan. Tried 3 different times to buy a home and 3 times, there was a problem of some kind that prevented it from happening.
Finally found our dream home and needed an updated prequal from our guy, Trent. For a week I tried to get in touch with him through phone and email and he wouldn't respond and needless to say, our home slipped away from us. I was livid. I finally got in touch with someone there and they didn't know what was going on but that perhaps he had left the company. Two days later I get a call from a "new" person saying that he had been givin our file and that Trent had left the company!!! (Thanks for telling me BEFORE we made a bid on a house!!!)
Anyway, this guy wants me to resend everything I had already sent before saying that all of our paperwork had been "purged". Whatever. Now he is asking for fees again that I have already paid, etc.....I'm just sick of the whole mess. I wouldn't recommend using Amerisave. They are more trouble than they'll ever be worth. Just my opinion, of course.

I am not sure of your situation (credit score, etc...) but I just refined with a local broker here in Austin, TX (closed yesterday) and he was really good and had great rates - blows Amerisave out of the water. I am telling you this because you are in Texas and he only does Texas Loans.
