On August 2004, I noticed that a charge of $8.00 had been billed to my charge card by AOL Netmarket. I didn't think to much about it, because in July I had just restarted my internet services with AOl and I thought it was some sought of service charge. In September another charge was billed to my account, followed by another one in October.

On 6 November 2004, I noticed that AOL Netmarket had once again made another charge to my check card. I then called the number (877-209-0226) that appeared on my charge card statement. The gentlemen that answer the phone asked me for my account number, I informed him that I didn't have an account number because I had never bought anything from them and that all I wanted was to do was to cancel the account. He then asked me for my last name and after a few minutes he told me that their was no account under that name. He then asked me for my first/last name.

After a few minutes he told me that he still couldn't find an account under that name. He then asked me how long I had that account, and I told him a few months ago. He then asked me for my address to see if he could retrieve my account with my home address. Once again he informed me that he couldn't find an account with neither my name or address. At this point I was getting inpatient and I told him that all I wanted was to close the account. He informed that he couldn't do that, and that I needed to write a letter to Support Services to get it close.

When he notice that I didn't sound happy, he informed me that I could fax the letter to the following number 614-835-5124. After talking to the gentlemen, I decided to look up AOL Netmarket in AOL's search box and that's when I stumbled with Lisa's Rip-Off report.
