About APUS and My personal experience,

APUS seemed to be okay, not great not bad in most respects, the topics seemed to be easier than some, but they did have a couple of my subjects that were challenging. Many professors seemed to be late in getting in touch with students or responding back. It would be appropriate for a one or two-day response to be acceptable, but many times that was not met. But before all of this, some background is needed. I have PTSD and informed the enroller countless times and my advisor countless times of this and since I was recently diagnosed that I am adjusting to the medicine and I have breakdowns that sometimes last for a couple of days.

I informed everyone I came into contact with APUS to let everyone fully know I may have some issues now and then, but I would make all work up with any gradeless as appropriate. In my preparedness, I hoped everything would be understood. It had two bad episodes during the whole degree. One really brought me down low and also having issues with a family member that is dealing with alcoholism, which they also wanted me to prove by paperwork. This just seemed like a huge insult if I was digging down deep enough to tell them. I can put this on here because I think people should know and weigh the merits of this APUS.

Sadly not 3 classes left for my masters I had a very hard episode and then a repeated episode. I let the professor know and all they wanted was paperwork for me to prove what I was saying to be true, not like anything the advisors already told me, they just wanted numbers and money for their school. I could understand that some kind of proof was in order, but even submitting my diagnosis from a doctor was not good enough, APUS wanted more and more information to the point I started feeling violated. This is not a proud thing I have and I’m very ashamed of it and even some people who know me don’t know it.

Now they wanted me to prove again and again I have this issue and it began to wear on me and it caused another episode. The other issue they do not fill you in about all your rights and were not told after submitting me for school dismissal I could have argued against the school’s final choice to release a handicapped veteran for their program. You think being a military-backed college they would understand and supposedly the creators and veterans doing this for veterans. If this is true, then you think they would understand? Especially since my grades were good until the episodes happened. I would second think about this option. SNHU is much better and better recognized.
