Hi guys,
Just posting info on website about ad deceptive practices that I am a victim of with Ashley Furniture. Start from the bottom up as it is an email corresponse. It is as follows:
Dear Nancy,
It is a pleasure to get an email respond this quickly. However it is still an issue of folks having the name and selling the furniture but not who they claim to be. If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, then it isn't Ashley Furniture because it is not Ashley's Furniture. Do you see how that could be a problem? So the store is not a franchisee? Well in that case any store that is not a true Ashley Furniture store should say so. A disclaimer would be nice so that the consumer can see it for what it is or is not. Otherwise it is just furniture being sold like food. In that case, say that one can find furniture at a local dealer or fine furniture dealers near them. Now I want to put a stop to the furniture sale due to deceptive practices. I will contact the Better Business Bureau as well as my local government. I have been dupe of a tv.

We respond on a first come first serve basis depending on how many inquiries are received on that day. This is not a fanchisee. The store's have a license agreement to sell our furniture but we do not have any business ties with them.

Dear Nancy,
Thank you for sending a email 2 days after things were not resolved. The advert on tv was misleading. I came into the store thinking to buy sale furniture and pick up a free tv because of the advert. It is just like McDonalds with their franchisees and the national ads. If a franchisee is going use a national advert but have different prices for the item that is showcase is wrong. They have to use the same prices for the same item.
If the Ashley stores are not part of Ashley, which I find hard to separate when they look the same, they should have some sort of sign saying, "We are a franchisee; we do not partcipate in national promotions." I hate hearing no when I came into the store and had to be told that. It seems more like a bait and switch. If I would have known that caveat, I would have gone to a competitor. I was also told that I would have to pay a different higher price on the furniture instead of the sale price presented in order to get the tv. The advert at the end said spend $1999 and get a free 32 in tv or over $2999 and get a 40 something inch tv. Now when people ask me where I get my furniture from, I will say Ashley with the most disdain because of the lack of their promise to the customers.
