AT&T cell phone plans for family or even business is the biggest ripoff in the history of corporate greed, corruption, and legalized theft and robbery!

I have a small business with 5 phones, and purchased 5 phones with a budget of $190, and all the phones are smart phones so they force you to pay monthly fees for their data service which was $15.00 per month for 200MB per month, which is a ripoff considering Sprint provides unlimited data.

Instead of my bill being $190 per month, they billed me $300 and even $490 per month and i have been attempting to dispute this type of billing practices with them for 3 months now, and they don't care and will not budge. They will not let me cancel the $15.00 data plan on my phones so they force me to pay this.

They refuse to provide their customers with online features to control the data so when the phones reach their limit, it shuts them off to prevent overage charges.

When our phones did go over the limit, they would not just charge each phone the $25 per month for 2GB data, they would automatically apply their outrageous $45 per month for 4GB data.  And this is on top of the $15 per month, so each phone was billed $15 + $45 = $60.00 per month when we were only using 1GB of data.  They should not charge the $15 and only apply the next plan level of $25 and bill that only.  But NO, they bill me $15 plus the $45 and refuse to change it or credit my account what seems to be fair.

And now they changed their stupid 200MB data which would be used up in just 2-3 days to $19.95 per month. And their cancellation fee per phone is $275 which is outrageous! If you are a small business owner or want to get their family plan, would you really do business with the criminal company that gives you ABSOLUTELY NO control or power as the consumer over your bill?

Any smart business owner will run from this.  Every business and consumer has a RIGHT to control and limit what is being done on phones, and has a right to expect their bill to be $190 every month, not $350 or $498!

Now they said they would send me a $1375 cancellation fee in the mail.  So when a customer wants to leave and not do business with a company, you are either forced out of fear and financial ruin to leave them, or you are penalized in the butt for leaving them, you cannot even walk away from them with respect or dignity, they rape you in the rear with sand paper by throwing a $1350 cancellation fee because you don't want to do business with them.

Do you really want this? I cancelled and will never do business with AT&T ever again

1st AT&T sucks! If you have AT&T service you deserved to get ripoff. I have Verizon and I know Verizon and AT&T prices pretty are in line with one another. Only thing is I get coverage everywhere I go. Anyway you didn't get ripoff. You just don't understand business. I wonder what business are you involved in.

You have five lines but yet you thought you was only going to pay $190.00? Yeah sound like an AT&T plan. Then you said they rip you off cause Sprint has unlimited data. That's why they're not Sprint. The can charge what ever they want. Like I always tell people if Verizon and AT&T so expensive and don't offer unlimited data, why do they both have double the amount of costumers than Sprint and Tmobile. Keep that in mind when you consider another carrier.

Seem to me your phone bill is correct. Maybe get a larger data plan or start using your phone in wifi areas. You sir no nothing about running a business. I got some property in California, just send my a $50,000 check and it all yours. Remember 1st bill activations fees for all five lines, unless it was waived.

Take some responsibility for your action.

I dont see a ripoff either

I've had At+T for my phone for quite a while now and their fees are pretty clear in their paperwork. It sounds like most of your fees are data overage fees. if you are chewing through 200mb of data on a phone in a couple of days then you need to be on a different plan. I barely use 300mb a month, and I browse a LOT of websites. They don't automatically charge you for the next plan either, they charge you increments of overage. For example, I am on the 25$ 2gb a month plan. If I go over, they charge me 10$ for 1gb. If I go over again they charge me 10$ for another 1gb.

Also, how on earth do you expect 5 smartphones to cost less than 190$ a month anywhere? The 5 basic data plans are $75 alone. Add in a 70$ phone plan (which wouldn't be very many minutes to share) plus the add-a-line fees which I believe are $15 a line and you are already over $200 a month. Before taxes and fees. Did you read your paperwork at ALL from AT+T?

Do you have something in writing that explains your bill will be $190 a month with all your taxes and fees? For a buisness owner, you seem to not be able to read and understand a contract.

Profit is key to the survival of a business. As a business owner you should be aware of that.

That's not correct. A smart business owner would read and honor the agreement they signed. You are not happy with the policy that you agreed to. You did not claim that AT&T failed to honor the agreement so this does not appear to be a rip off.
