On January 14, 2015 I purchased a used pickup from Auto Gallery in Lawrenceville Ga. My sales person was Damian. After reviwing numerous vehicles I was shown this truck and was told of their 27 point inspection by certified mechanics, and that the vehicle was fully inspected and serviced. I purchased the vehicle on that day and Auto Gallery arranged financing through one of their lenders.

Upon my looking at the truck, I did express some concerns of some items, such as seeping valve cover gaskets and other minor details. I was assured by Damian that although the vehicle would be written as-is, that the Dealership would "stand behind" any issues with major drivetrain items. (Engine, Transmission Rear End) for 30 days. That statement was confirmed by Carlos, a person who was doing the paperwork on my sale and presented himself as a Manager.

After only 5 days, the truck shut off for no reason while driving at speed on the highway. It would not turn over although there was power getting to the interior dashboard. Auto Gallery towed the truck in to their shop and called to tell me they found the problem. I went to the dealership and talked with Joe, the Service Manager. He claimed a wire had come loose and that all would be OK. I noticed that a Security System warning light was flashing on the dash, and brought this to the attention of Joe. He told me that the light on was "normal" and that his computer indicated that there were no futher issues with the truck. Knowing that was not likely, I talked again with Carlos the Manager. He assured me that I had no cause for concern, and that he would "have my back" and again "stand behind" anything that may happen to the vehicle. Well on the next outing, I drove to South Carolina, the Rear Differential started to clunk and abrubly locked up leaving me stranded in the middle of the road. I had to get towed off the highway, and called Auto Gallery the next morning. They informed me that they were NOT going to do anything about the rear end failure. Damian, stated that the management had spent enough money on the first issue and was not going to help in the repair in any way. This was the position that Carlos had when I talked to him as well. The estimate to replace the rear end unit using a used part is 1140.00. That does not include the 600.00 tow bill I paid to get the truck back to my home. To make matters worse, while the mechanic had the truck on the lift, he informed me that the catalytic converters and exhaust emmisions were removed/altered on the vehicle! Cost to replace: 1855.00!!

I went to Auto Gallery in good faith and asked, if they would pay for the used rear end, I would eat the towing costs. I just wanted to get my truck back on the road. I also said that I would be willing to repair the exhaust and emmissions on my own as I would have time to save to get the things done as I went along. They denied my very reasonable request. Now I have a truck that won't move, needs electrical repairs, and has a screwed  up emmissions. I have spent just over 3300.00 since January 14th and have nothing to show but a pile of metal in my driveway and a bank loan for over 15,000!

Auto Gallery has shown me that they will say anything regardless of the truth to "hook" you into a deal. They will NOT do what they promise they will do.  They practice very deceptive sales techniques to assure you that you will be taken care of and that they really care about what they sell you. They do NOT! Further more in their online reviews, the will always delete any negative or unappealling reviews. Most of the 5 star reviews are from friends, relatives and employees. They have been sited before for advertising practices by the Office of Consumer Affairs. They have over 25 compaints through the Better Business Bureau in the last 18 months.

The statements I make above are true and accurate, I have estimates, receipts, and will make my truck available to anyone who wants to look and see for yourself!!  THESE PEOPLE ARE BAD!!!!!!!

How to Buy a Car?

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Monday, May 11, 2015

I like the wise guy comments you make about me bringing someone who knows how to buy a car. Perhaps Auto Gallery should look into the laws of selling a car as a Dealer. You see, It's not against the law to think that someone is being honest and above board. It IS however, unlawful to intentionally deceive and mislead as to representing a product to a consumer. Look all over the internet, Auto Gallery in Lawrenceville has compaint after complaint about the nearly identical issues with the same personnel. Coincidence?  I don't believe so. STAY AWAY from these people! There are better Dealers that will help you with your credit issues and treat you much better!!!

Nice Try!

Yes, I decided to purchase the vehicle, After I was assured that I would get a 30 day warranty on the major components. From two seperate people at the Dealership. I would call a rear differential a major component. Hardly asking for a "Free Warranty". All this happened within 3 weeks of purchase. Yes, I decided to purchase the vehicle when I was told that it had been totally serviced and checked by certified mechanics. It obviously was not.

If your rebuttal in any way relects the opinion of the Dealership, than this Rip Off Report has done it's job, exposing what your true attitude is toward the customers who trust you at your word. And I would again state: BUYER BEWARE!  That is what your statement ratifies. Nice try!

You freely admitted YOU decided to buy this car "As Is" and now you expect free warranty service???  You also admitted YOU decided to buy this car with what you knew were pre-existing problems. Perhaps next time you should go with someone who knows how to buy a car!
